Problem Encountered : while im not using the phone to make calls or sms , even the phone is slept or awake i still couldn't receive any call or sms from others. Until i use my phone to call or sms ,then ill receive all the miss called message n other ppls message. Meaning , my iphones signal like it will automaticly turned off or slept while im not using it to smsm or calls.
Steps Taken So Far : non .
Other Information/Remarks : dont know whats the problem im having ..

ultrasn0w will only work on iPhones with basebade 4.26.08 or below (no unlock for 5.11.07), regardless of your firmware version (3.0, 3.0.1, 3.1). which means that you'll need to obtain a custom firmware pwned using PwnageTool, which will update the firmware but still retain the baseband.

PwnageTool is only for Mac users but the custom firmware can be used by Windows users. hence, if you're a Windows user, you'll need to obtain a custom firmware (google for one), restore through iTunes and you're good to go.

all custom firmwares are jailbroken, hence you'll need not to go through the jailbreak process again after restore.

for bro leonic problem is more serious than me...im using maxis 3g set and i had upgrade to 3.1 but i face the problem is sometime when my phone is at sleep mode than i press pwr button my screen oso no appear anythg,n ppl can call in but my phone wont show out n ring.i nid reset my phone than jz can use (d*mn angry)...so i downgrade firmware back to 3.0 n baseband stil is 05.11.07 everythg ok n i stil can jailbreak again...hehe
any bro face this problem b4?

I've try restore using custom fw but error exist.. Unlucky.. hu..hu..

your phone is in the recovery mode. You need to restore your phone through itunes. In order for the phone to be unlocked, you need to restore it using the custom restore.ipsw. Please don't update through itunes, because it will update your phone to the latest version (version 3.1.2) in which the modem firmware is also updated. If your phone modem firmware is 05.11.07 you only can jailbreak the phone(no unlock at this time for modem firmware 05.11.07 and above). If the modem firmware is 04.26.08, you can jailbreak and unlock the phone using redsn0w 0.8. After jailbreak, turn on wifi, select cydia on springboard, select manage, select source, select edit, select add, type repo666.ultrasn0w.com, add source. Now can see the repo666.ultrasn0w has been added to your cydia source, now select repo666.ultrasnow.com, it will open ultrasn0w 0.9.1, select to install ultrasn0w, it will load to your iphone. just wait and your phone has been unlocked. Please turn of the 3g on setting.

hi all SIFU i am new on iphone, i am using 3Gs with modem firmware 04.26.08 and version 3.0. i would like to JB using "blackra1n" do i need to update my firmware to 3.1.2 or just JB with firmware 3.0.

yes you must update, if your iphone is factory unlock or carrier unlock, then you can go ahead and update to firmware version 3.1.2, blackrain is a jailbreaking tool for iphone with with firmware 3.1 and above. But if your phone is locked to a carrier, it is best for you not to update to the latest firmware. To be save, you just restore your phone with custom restore ipsw which is iPhone1_2_3.1_7C144_Custom_Restore.ipsw, by doing this custom restore method, your iphone version is update to 3.1, but your modem firmware is remain at 04.26.08. At this time only modem firmware 04.26.08 can be unlocked by using ultrasn0w. All iphone with modem firmware 05.11.07 only can jailbreak and no unlock.

No, you can't yet.

you can downgrade from a firmware to an older one but not a baseband. therefore, do be extra cautious when upgrading firmware on a locked set, as once the baseband has been upgraded, there's no turning back.

you'll be stuck with a iTouch rather than an iPhone, unless Dev Team (or any other unlockers) is able to come up with a permanent unlock solution (just like for the 2G), which is highly unlikely for now.

at the moment, locked set users who wish to stay unlocked with the latest firmware, the only option left is to download a custom firmware (for Windows users) which upgrades the firmware but retains the baseband.

or alternatively, if you're a Mac user, you can create such firmware via PwnageTool.
