guyz, i used the restore file from a CD Maxis gave me, just now it works just fine, jailbreak / unlock n everything, but then when i tried to restore my contacts / sms / notes / calendar.. my phone became unstable, it keeps on switching on n off on the Slide To Unlock screen. so, again..i restored n jailbreak..its fine, but now i cant get maxis signal, again. reinstalled ultrasn0w couple of times, restarted couple of times.. still..nothing..

QUOTE(teikwing @ Jun 25 2009, 09:43 AM) that's an odd case. mine is working well previously with yellowsn0w too and so does ultrasn0w. mind to tell us which carrier you're on? that's exactly how i did it bro. im on maxis btw. haizz..damn frustrating. thx for all ur help guys, will consult Hanxz n see if he can help. thx again. here's all the steps i went through (in my case): 1. Download and update iTunes to 8.2 2. Download redsn0w 0.7.2 3. Download iPhone 3G 3.0 firmware 4. Restore iPhone 3G in iTunes to firmware 3.0 5. Jailbreak using redsn0w (install only Cydia) 6. Load Cydia and add Source "repo666.ultrasn0w.com" 7. Search for "ultrasnow" and download 8. Download completed (No signal yet) 9. Reboot iPhone 10. "Searching" comes up and Maxis carrier shows right after that. *There's no need for me to take out the sim card at any time through out the restoring, jailbreaking and unlocking process. do check again and go through the whole process again. if after everything and still failed, consult Hanxz here. |

![]() Added on July 16, 2009, 11:16 am QUOTE(Lord_Ashe @ Jul 16 2009, 10:05 AM) bro, try referring to DG's guide here. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1061070 I added a section that allows you to enter ANY carrier's MMS settings, and install them directly to your iPhone. All you need is the APN name. Do give it a shot, I was having trouble with my cellular data too, but this seems to have fixed it. Yes, I know it's actually for tethering, but why not try? *note : i found another phone dat have same problem as mine. iphone 3g 16gb, no MMS option in the Messaging Options. i didnt jb it, sum1else did. everything else is a success..just no MMS Option. n he's using Celcom. guys, need more help now...i cant get a signal yet again...its been all day already, switching on n off airplane mode...switching on n off d phone itself..reinstalled ultrasnow..restore..agaiinnn..still, no luck getting d signal..
i read back then that there are possibilities dat you might have an embedded turbosim inside your iphone, how do i confirm this n what are d symptoms if im having probs with turbosim embedded in my iphone... ? Added on August 16, 2009, 12:08 amn bro, how do i check my iphone region eh ? im already fedup n if cant solve this matter in a week i will smash this damn phone n get another one from maxis. F*ck ! Added on August 16, 2009, 12:09 amsorry for d 'F' word...im sooo pissed off rite now. Added on August 16, 2009, 2:17 pmi guess i found d culprit n yes..there is an embedded turbo sim in my phone.. DAMN ! i already carefully trimmed all the wires connected to the board n now..i got a "No Sim" issue.. i notice there dat there's a copper been taped. i guess it is so dat it wont connect to the iphone sim tray n connect with the Turbo Sim instead.. now everything's related to Turbo Sim been removed, im stuck with No Sim error...i think i need to "patri" back the iphone sim tray to the motherboard then i think it will solve everything.. but i dont have the equipment needed.. anyone here can help me out ? ![]() This post has been edited by ejslayer: Aug 16 2009, 02:17 PM |
