Display settings: HDMI, 1080P

Sound no problem. It's not the display issue. It's displaying great. Just that for some movies, it stops half way. When I tried to re-play, the movie starts back from the beginning. I fast forward back near to where it stops, and play. When reach the same part, it stops again. Now, it already happen to 3 movies already. File not corrupted because I can play in PC very good and smooth. Confuse now??  unsure.gif

Is AC Ryan better anyone?  hmm.gif

So far safe for my files....no problem on it. Anyhow it is just a duplicate copy of files which i kept safely in my PC HDD.

I wonder if I can use eTRAYz to make it as a file server among my friends to share media files..... hmm.gif

Only issue is the d/l speed of other user on getting those files.

it won't die la.. so far so many media players , egreat, wdtv, dvico dune etc all no need to eject, if any player unit require to eject or HDD/usb drive will konk, then must be quite lousy,..

I think LAN just sufficient for streaming up to 1080p MKVs (not full bitrate BD), if want to use it even Gigabit connection to fill up 1TB HDD.. I think take forever.. way slower than USD2.0..

Guys, thanks for confirming on the unavailability of Eject function on Xtreamer notworthy.gif

Yeah, if the media player itself will cause damage on the USB drive without using the Eject function
it's a lousy player
I don't like the eject function either coz it's very troublesome
As my previous wdtv has this function
I just wanna confirm only coz I couldn't find that function in Xtreamer
and also I'm used to eject USB drive in PC tongue.gif

I'm used to eject everytime on USB when plug to PC. That may cause damage if not eject properly.

Eject is to tell OS to flush all cache to the media. The cache is use to speed up writing process.

If you don't write anything then it safe to just unplug.

An interesting comparison done by mavvy from xtreamer.net for temperature for three different types of cooling system for Xtreamer.

Have a look on the data for those who concerns about Xtreamer temperature.

I just done a fan mod on the xtreamer. The original fan is faulty with grinding sound even on low fan mode. Lazy to send back for RMA. Cost to do the mod is RM 20 for 3.5" HDD cooler. Fan noise is very low and I can't hear it from 3 feet onwards. Fan set to high in the settings.

Hi Pierreye,

It's a nice job! I'm thinking to mod the fan as well.

Do you need to screw down the 3.5" HDD cooler to the case or it could be attached by just using double-sided tape?

I came across this... http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/reviews/270697/xtreamer.html

"As well as streaming media files from UPnP servers on your network, the Xtreamer can act as a UPnP server, so you can access files from other PCs in your home or over the internet. It also has basic NAS functions, letting you create shared folders. It supports SMB file shares, allowing you to see shared folders on your Windows PCs and vice versa. You can also access web-based content such as YouTube and Picasa Web Albums"

So, basically, I can use as a NAS? I mean, can I just copy paste my files easily from my pc using window explorer view?
