QUOTE(jchong @ Oct 30 2009, 10:22 AM) So busy still haven't got time to try out my Xtreamer. Will do it this weekend. Some questions: congrats bro,1. the 2.5" HDD can format within Xtreamer? Or I format it in my PC first before putting inside Xtreamer? 2. can boot up Xtreamer just to test if its working without a 2.5" HDD inside? anxiously awaiting your in-depth, photographic, hands-on review |

Wah, I didn't know people expected so much from my reviews
Actually I wasn't planning to post any review on the Xtreamer since I'm not so familiar with media players (can't give any comparisons or experienced views) and besides this Xtreamer is more for my kids (put all their cartoons and kids shows into HDD rather than all the VCDs / DVDs lying around now). |

QUOTE(hdwarexpert @ Oct 31 2009, 11:17 AM) I'm not so worried about HD stuff because I have my BD player for that. Still waiting for a player that can handle bd.iso flawlessly then I might migrate over to that and save on buying BDs. |

Well, I might want to use the Xtreamer once in a while also and experiment with mkv, etc... so I thought to get something better. Network connectivity was also something I wanted.Added on October 31, 2009, 11:32 am Maybe wait for rm10 unker ho liddat if want cheap. Bdiso also need hdd and case to store them. Hahaha. It'll be some time before uncle ho reaches RM10. Yeah, bd.iso also needs hdd, etc. Nothing is free... but some things are cheaper than others I guess. One thing I like about bd.iso is the convenience of many titles in one HDD (no need to eject/load disc) and much faster loading. |

BD ISO will be supported in Firmware 2.0 which is due to release next Friday. It'll be some time before uncle ho reaches RM10. I just try out 2.0b4 firmware (beta v2). Network speed issue had been solved. I try both high bitrate mkv and m2ts file (35Gb blu-ray movie) and it works without any stuttering. As currently it's not connected to my amp, I can't test the HD audio passthrough but TrueHD can be downmix to 2 channel output directly to tv.

Glad to hear this Xtreamer is solving its issue fast enough. Just read out the Release Notes for 2.0Beta4 last night. Have not tried it out though. |

I only have G wireless so I don't think that would be enough bandwidth for 1080p. Didn't try planet earth but others 1080p mkv and m2ts is working fine. Previously all 1080p material will stutter on 1.0.3 firmware. I try both NFS and Windows share, no problem at all. Last thing to try is TrueHD and DTS-MA passthrough. |
