I will try to do this first! buying a new hdmi will be among last resort.

Any new interesting step here is;
no. 3) Change TV system to HDMI Auto

never touch or found this setting before, but first let me have a look smile.gif

Please do this

in Xtreamer Pro Setting under AV,
1) have you enable HDMI audio to ON?
2) have you set the Digital Output to DTSHD, TrueHD etc?
3) Change TV system to HDMI Auto
4) Turn off 1080p 24hz option - if u intend to play HD sound if not then turn it ON

If still no sound then try changing the HDMI cabel from Xtreamer Pro to AVR - (although the HDMI actually the same sometimes it might have compatibility issue so perhaps get another HDMI cabel - if possible get HDMI v1.3c). by right with all these setting you're able to play and watch movie with 5.1 sorround HD sound via HDMI in your AVR (speaker).

hope this help
*
I thought some of the setting for tv but actually all for XPro.
btw, I had try all those before and try it again last night but still my avr can't detect the hdmi input,
if the end of hdmi been transfer direct to tv, the its not a single problem at all.

I notice that one of my cable is only 1.3 and the other one not mention it.

I'll try to get 1.3c later with guaranty exchnage 1 to 1 with optical cable, sweat.gif just in case ....

Bro before you buying HDMI cabel, try this setting in your AVR first (but make sure u done the setting i told u earlier in your xt-pro)

1) Get/find/read the AVR Manual (go to chapter 5 page 40)

Make sure u set the HDMI setting to AMP (means audio signal out from this receiver) and not THRU hdmi setting use amp
auto delay is off.

To go to this setting use the remote, Press Receiver t hen Press Audio Parameter Button, then use the up / down button till u see the hdmi option. then use the left (<- ) / right (->) button to select AMP.

then on page 41, read how to enable the sound via HDMI under Choosing The Input Signal. meaning if u use HDMI IN 1 u should see the H sign or else u will see the A/c1/01/02 if using analog/coax or optical

by right u should be able to output your sound via HDMI to your AVR.

Do let me know the outcome !

Cons with External HD?...

Well..only minor...
1) Need additional Plug point (if you are using 3.5inch external HDD)
2) More wires to arrange nicely
3) Depending on HDD casing...sometimes more current usage.
4) Additional space to put it.
5) Be extra careful if you have kids..they might drop it.

Video playback is all good..I recommend Samsung G3 external.

cry.gif unfortunately it's still doesn't work.

my hdmi setting is always set to AMP, and check again last 2 night, its still AMP (i had no other media that use hdmi)

also had tried choose the correct input signal, but its wouldn't stay at 'H". only a couple of second on 'H' then, its going to change to 'A'

so frustrated. sad.gif

btw, do you use hdmi cable that came together with the XPro or you use other hdmi cable? (from XPro to avr)

Not sure bro, but 2Tb not picking up....most opt for 1.5TB

most see it like this...between 1 to 1.5TB need to add RM50....but between 1.5 to 2 need to add RM70...
Thats not including the movies inside

But in actual

Actual size:------Diff-------RM----Per GB price
931 (1TB)-------------------230----0.247046187
1396 (1.5TB)-----465------280----0.200573066
1862 (2TB)-------466------350----0.187969925

Price is estimate only

2Tb is the cheapest per GB...but the Price of RM350 turns down most ppl

recently you suggest to get hdmi cable 1.3c, if somehow only 1.4 available,
does 1.4 hdmi is compatible too with Xtreamer Pro?
