btw have you try using different media player or bluray player using the same HDMI (HDMI In) ? if yes can u get the sound via HDMI in your AVR? If yes means you got a faulty Xtreamer Pro. If Nope then i think its YOUR AVR giving problem.

from factory setting, I always do upgrade by emergency firmware; unplug everything for 30 min as their guide and recommendation.
But still can't solve the hdmi problem, fw 2.5.4 is no different. thanks to soulquarianz, now i know that actually my problem is I  can't select [HDMI Auto] on TV system.
I only can select hdmi auto when I'm connecting hdmi cable directly to tv, but not to avr.  wink.gif

I discovered that Xtreamer is very picking about the quality of HDMI cable u use. (A set I got a friend of mine had picture issues, the picture kept wink on and off or full screen/small screen.

Once he got a better HDMI cable, the issue disappeared...

Maybe you should consider getting better HDMI cables

My Xtreamer's remote control interfere with my wired remote control for Edifier S530D speaker. The wired remote control for the speaker have its own IR receiver, so everytime I press any button on Xtreamer's remote control, my speaker's wired remote control pick up the signal n changed any settings on it.

I already tried to separate them as far as i could. Is there anyway to avoid this ? It's very annoying. cry.gif

Since you are using wired remote to your Edifier, you can add black tape to the IR lens on the receiver.

hmm.gif ... Very good suggestion. It's really a good n simple idea that i never thought of, but i think i will DIY something to cover the whole wired remote control when its not needed, so that it can be remove/put on easily, sometimes i still need to use wireless remote control bcos it's connected to other things as well like PS3.

that is very unfortunate that I don't have any other player with hdmi.
maybe will try to borrow from my friend although its quite troblesome.

I'm already used 3 different hdmi cable which all give the same result (unable to choose hmdi auto on xtreamer Pro),
although an expensive hdmi does give a better quality image (connect directly to tv), no small random white spot.

i don't think I'm gonna spend more money on hdmi cable wink.gif
targeting toslink after coming back from oversea( need money lor...)

Could it be that HDD not being spinned-down and we switch off the player just like that? I sense it with the Xtreamer Sidewinder.

When I switch off my popcorn, the HDD will be spinned-down before the unit is totally off.

I am using few 1.5TB Samsung HDD in my Xtreamer Pro. So far no problem at all.

At one time, i tried online update Firmware but facing some problem on installing via the air. Then I update it using USB Thumbdrive. After update, I notice 1 of my HDD which is HDD on A slot is not able to be detected by Xtreamer Pro. I thought it may died. But it is still running when I connected it to my PC. After I deleted the Firmware file which is downloaded via online (which is stored in this HDD on A slot) and put it back to my Xt Pro, it works normally again.

Hope this works for those who is facing similar problem.
