What is Xtreamer Sidewinder?

What's the difference between it and Xtreamer Pro?
*
The Sidewinder is an accessory for the Xtreamer that helps cool down the unit by dissipating the heat while in operation.

Dear Etrayz users,

Firmware 1.0.5 is out already few days ago.

Remember to upgrade it when free.

Read the upgrade procedures first before attempting to do it.

Thanks.

I have problem with my Xtreamer Pro. Just bought it 2 weeks ago. After watch 1 movie its gone crazy (no sound or display or tv screen flickering.) When i touch it its hot as u can fry an egg on it. Theres a fan there but its seems like no use. Im using single 2TB internal HDD and planning to add another 1. Anyone here face the same problem?

So far i did'nt encounter the problem you are facing, i add single 1 TB HDD into it, i watch few episodes drama continuously the body just a little bit warm, not that hot. Maybe you need to send back to the seller for checking.

I put 2 1.5TB HDD inside and it is just feel warm. Normal temperature.

I think it is better for you to get back to the reseller and let them inspect for you together with your HDD along for them to test.

Just bought these at LY Viewnet
e-TRAYz @ RM429
Xtreamer USB Wifi @ RM95
2x 2TB WD @ 2 x RM419
No credit card charges for the price above.

Now configuring it with 4TB.

The quick guide in the box is so bad. Broken england everywhere.

Instructions on How to open the front cover to put in the hardisk is bad. I couldn't figure out. Ended up, found the solution via youtube's ppl unboxing video.

Samsung 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB 5400rpm are good choice because they create less heat compare to others. WD green not recommended because we face 3 cases of sudden lost data and cannot be recovered. Very scary. Even some NAS manufacturers also not recommend WD green.

Samsung F3 is a high speed model...and dispense a lot of heat (but WD Blue and Black worst).
I know, I'm using one...and for a media player...no point getting a super duper high speed HDD.

The best so far is Samsung F2 (Eco version) 1.5tb....but the 2tb is getting more popular cos' of the price.
So far I've been using Hitachi..but now, I find myself with lots of Samsung F2 around. Even my 2.5inch HDD (I've 4 Hitachi) also beginning to change to Sammy.
