got chance to try dunlop D01 where just installed in my mom's car.....well..i can say its good for normal driving and slight average cornering.....but once you break the traction, the tire screeches and whole car understeer badly...and i tested the same stretch where i use my PP2 to corner but different car..la... D01 definitely suitable for normal driving, slightly hard still ok but if trash it then rclxub.gif ......quiet tire also.... rclxms.gif

yea... compare to others UHP tires it is quite quiet and also among the best Hydroplaning tire... V12's can compare to it when u say traction and braking performance but Hydroplaning lose to it... really shock when i felt skidding a bit during quite heavy rain on highway... only 110 ~120 km/h nothing compare to previously when i'm using PP2 usually it can go up to 140~150km/h

anyone has feedback on Federal?

i switched out my PP2 today to Federal 195/55/R15 595EVO tires. so far seems quiet but would love to hear comments about the handling in wet weather.

How much price you get the federal tires. Tomorrow I'll be changing my tires. Looking for v12 but your tyre size matches my tyre too so if price is ok i;ll consider it too.

got it at RM225 per piece with the valve and alignment, balancing all thrown in of course.

after driving for the first few hours, i can say that these tires are quieter than the PP2. very smooth ride and cornering grip is nice. i guess this is not a surprise considering that the threadwear rating is only 240. haven't had a chance to test it in the rain yet though.

bro nice to see u try out 595evo tire...
last week i was coming back from outstation ... that day the sky was very dark in day time ... dry time i was doing 100~110/kmh then when almost reach senawang area the rain fall was very heavy ... i reduce speed ... slow traffic ...

when road clear ... start to push increase speed ... doing 130/kmh.. when saw got some water clog at the fast lane ... try to run over it ... when approach the steering pull abit then it grip back in the road ... #dont try on deep water clog# some things bad may happen...

after that less and less water clog then i continue push and push ... in front of me was a red persona... high beam him to move off but fail then very close tail gate him till he was scare off ... then he move off... i continue push .. average was doing 150~170kmh ... grip was good ... then there was a car accident on the road ... slow down then tire grip was ok too dint feel slide even apply medium brake force ...

when coming to nilai ~ KLIA corner ... normally in dry road was doing 140~150/kmh... that corner was wet that time ... rain too .. that time i slow down abit and taking that corner 120/kmh ... it slide during entering then i start to push in the corner feel some G-force ... it grip well too... wet road all the time stay away white & yellow line...

wet/rain test drive on 595Evo ... becarefull when driving in the rain...

@loong... yea Dunlop D01... cannot push ... push either get wild understear or wild overstear... no control... not subtle and controllable.... but to get to to do either is also quite hard....hav to really drive rough... under rain conditions... almost similar but easier 2 push it and lose control.... its a bit hard... quite quiet for an old tire... plus not to mention bang for the buck!

Loong and michael ......i wonder how pp2 sound and harshness and wet driving is compared to dunlop???

@michael... hmm v12 hydroplaning not as good as PP2? i m considering v12 now after reading some of ur comments.... hmmm

i jus wonder how v12 is compared to dunlop..... any comparison on dunlop formula D01 ... hankook v12 and pp2?

taq...given mark based on my experience...RE001=80%...PP2=80%...Toyo T1R 80%...Dunlop D01=40%

u get my point?..

Hankook v12 70% vs pp2 80%

pp2 win all over for performance...

hmmm...pp2 noise not that bad either & its much harsher than dunlop d01.....but the steering feedback is good and when you corner dont feel any softness/bodyroll on PP2.....but for dunlop D01 on the other hand, its a value for money quiet tires...but the tires only run about 1k++ which fitted on my mom's car recently.....in terms of harshness, i think, D01 not bad and less harsh than PP2 but taking corners i can definitely feel the softness of the tire...and when its being corner hard, it dosent give any squeaking sound frm the tire...unless it looses control only will squeek.... laugh.gif
based on my opinion....PP2 is harsher than D01...but it is being tested frm the two different cars that will not proof a solid feedback since the suspension, nvh all different....
but for those who want a affordable tires D01 is great choice to grab...heck even my friends uses D01 as their new tire replacement.....and only one of my friend uses PP2 on honda city.....others were goodyear, silverstone & etc

currently using Hankook V8RS 165/50/15 on my kelisa.

previously using Falken ST115.

ST115 is so much better. the hankook is good....but cant compare with the falken in dry or wet....especially in wet. the ST115 feels like the road is dry even when its raining. really good tires for wet weather....and hell of alot more quiet too. sux that its out of production for other sizes already though

anyway...curious to know... after the D01 feedbacks... i wonder how these tires compare to Silverstone Evol8?

EDIT: typo

when you say performance... u mean?
