noted. thanks.
currently on s.drive 205/55/r15 rear. as expected from directional thread....it's not just a lil noisy but damn noisy  tongue.gif  tlr and re001 wasn't in my mind.  wanna try other brand. looking around for avid hs4 but to not avail.
since i prefer directional thread at the rear.  next up could be federal.
*
if you scare noisy try Hankook V12 lo... coz it can be consider as quiet for a directional tire... if not i'll straight away change back to PP2 when i notice that lo... coz i need to change just bcos my SEG's PP2 finish already... i realise that Hankook V12 wear and tear quite ok... since it did not have really visible higher wear rate at the shoulder compare to the middle... PP2 i have to really take good care of it... coz if you miss it... the shoulder will wear much faster...

yngwie,
Federal they got few type range from
Semi slick 595 Rs-R performance very close to Toyo R888 on track and the best is alot cheaper the toyo

Street 595 Evo i think cheapest street performance tire, Im using now

Street 595 SS ppl say for drift use ... but saw some MPV using it...

bizzy,
since AD08 is over price why not give a try on Kumho performance is very close to AD08 and price is about half of them ... that subject to size too cause i only check for 15'

another tire is toyo R888 cheaper then AD08 performance is alot better the AD08...

If u all the time is corner kaki try to look for low number UTQ grade >200

@bizzy,
S drive is still ok ok but if you are aggressive freak and u don mind wet grip pls go for semi-slick...

@xshiro,
if you really read thru the forum i have review it countless time to other members... tired already talking... please search around...
i'd used 3 set of PP series which 2 of them PP2... then currently on Hankook V12 changed on May '09... all 195/55 R15 size...

PP2 is more towards high speed handling (harder side wall), a lil quieter than V12 and hydroplaning is best in it's class...
but u get harsh ride if you have already a sport suspension (not suitable for ppl driving Honda's) for me Vios still ok, Wet cornering may understeer sometimes

V12 offer you better comfort (softer side wall) and also wet cornering...
but u have a slower steering response about 0.5 sec when u are driving around 100km/h and it is noisier than PP2

just a summary pls look back for my post on more details...

@vios2002,
how mcuh is the 595 evo??? i'm using 195/55 R15... what is the previous tire u had used b4??? how does it fair with it?

Yeah, maybe because of the harder sidewall, I'm currently using 'wannabe sports setup' as well (tanabe spring with monroe reflex), during highspeed (120 km/h and above) i can feel the hardness but during corner it really response.

@michael9413,
I can say cheap i get the federal 595 Evo at RM198 pc i dint trade in my old tire...

Last time my old car i use Dunlop & goodyear tire with super hard rubber like taxi driver use cheap cheap good good .... then upgrade to Yokohama A-drive then chop shop tire ... yokohama DNA/ES100 and dunlop something also chop shop ... go genting no issue even from chop shop maybe make in japan... then now Federal 595EVO

before buying 595Evo i was looking for Goodyear RS sport ... every hard to find then look for toyo R1r... price issue ...then 595Rs-R i was worry wet road and high wear rate cause semi slick rubber and i think with 180UTQ ... then skip...

Im still looking for GY RS sport...any idea where got for 15"?

then u should try out Hankook V12... oh u are looking for that... hmmm not sure though some of the size they seldom have stock..
i duno now i wan some one who use V12 and 595 Evo to compare for me...
coz V12 is comfort and it's performance comparable with some others... and it's noise still bearable and some one did told me it can be consider as quiet for directional tires... what is ur drive... hmmm maybe we can have TT and test the tire...
BTW V12 only cost me RM180 at Klang without any trade in as the old PP2 will be fitted to my SEG... smile.gif

i am currently looking at other alternative. seems like 205/55/r15 is quite rare here.
no slick tyre for now cuz they sux' during rainy season sweat.gif
currently using S.Drive(rear), besides, i can't find the softer looking Yokohama Avid H4S.
does the Federal available in that size? where did you bought yours from?
me 'kaki corner' depending on mood brows.gif but i need the tyre as a replacement for my daily ride.
hence, it's only 15" tongue.gif
btw, a friend recommend me a barum bravuris but i've had a bad experience with that tyre before.....

Hey there, i m on SEG 1.6 M and now using 195/55/15 sport rims with Dunlop Formula D01...

previously on stock rims 185/65/14 ( think) and yokohama S306

changed to dunlop due to s306 making me VERY VERY paranoid in wet conditions....

s306 nice 2 skid/slide in d dry through controllable slide....

dunlop is on rails in dry but once traction breaks threes NO control

dunlop is much better in wet with a pretty good price 2 years back.

its time to change and i am looking for comfort + quiet + good wet handling.

Please share comments experiences on those 2 tires mentioned above as well as recommendations on future choices and prices.

not into spirited driving everyday jus once in a bLUE MoOn

er... throw all away... ???
well if you are using 195/55 R15 and u wan control during wet condition you have few choices.... Michelin PP2, Hankook V12, BS Adrenalin RE001, Toyo T1R... those tire if not mistaken all rated AA in traction standard... while D-01 is only A or B not sure...
Michelin PP2, BS RE001 is a bit hard but if you SEG is on stock then it should not be a problem for you... i had PP2 installed to my SEG 2 set already...
Hankook V12 u get all those u wan... but it's Hydroplaning is not that good that day i went back from KLIA to USJ at ELITE... raining quite heavy and i drive around 120km/h it loose to PP2 in hydroplaning but it's cornerning and also braking ability is good also... and the best is it only cost RM190 in Klang Valley... while PP2 cost around RM240, Toyo T1R around RM260 (not that sure) and lastly the most expensive RE001 is around RM300

ok... well side wall hardness i duno as i never use Dunlop and BS b4... i only stick to Michelin PP2 for 3 years at least when i put 15" on my SEG... i can say PP2 harder side wall will give you superb handling and also god hydroplaning, since your absorber is quite soft i assume it suits the car...
while Hankook V12 which i install on my vios after 2 set of PP2, my summary is PP2 will give you harder ride while V12 gives u comfort and gripping at cornering, but the downside is the ability of hydroplaning and the handling which PP2 strong at... it is your choice to choose which one u wan...
but the traction of all those tire for sure is better than D-01...
RE001 i heard it is a bit on the hard side like PP2 or slightly harder...
