What's th latest price for it anyone? Prefer PJ area. Thanks. KU31 is directional... should a slightly more noisy than PP2... price, i'm not sure woh... last time my fren have Kenari, used both also PP2 is better but KU31 value for $$$$... ur call which to buy lo... kumho ecsta ku-31 is definitely a value buy. tried the tire last year. recommended for its price.
that time 205/45/16 is only around 238 a piece. bought somewhere in subang. noise level is still acceptable. |

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Apr 21 2011, 09:08 AM) it was the ps-powersport blow off which made the loudest sound. exhaust setup never fail jpj inspection btw, do you ever heard of alignment problem while using the ventus v8 tire? a friend back in just bought the tire and his after fitting, his car's alignment run. was fine when it was on dunlop d01. |

haha... directional tire problem... mine hankook V12 set when fitted to my old toy always run 1 side... after 4 times of swapping they manage to get it running straight...
try to ask them to swap 1 side front and rear... if cannot then swap the both front of course have to take off the rim... no charges apply for me at least when i did complaint when i finish my installation at Teik Ming Sunway... |

he told me, foreman already swap among 4 side. even weighed the fitted wheels for weight different.
better but still tend to sway to the left. btw, i never had problem with directional tread tires. |

i keep reading saying that KU31 is bang for buck....but not many mention why its bang for buck?
hows the grip for dry roads? hows the grip for wet roads? how stiff is the sidewall? is it suitable for track? all question compared to KU36, R1R and Potenza series |

Hey bros, I'm going to change sport rims for my Honda City 06. But I'm not sure that 16" or 17" is better. I've survey from some tire shop, they told me 16" and 17" tire/rims price is almost the same,so they suggest me 17". Is it true?
Btw,which tire is better? I'm using Michelin PP2 185/55R15. I need it quite, last and the price is reasonable. LOL. Michelin? Toyo? Hankook? Yokohama? Bridgestone??? Any suggestion for me please... Thank you This post has been edited by Edwin89: Apr 21 2011, 07:19 PM |

So So, not as good as Hankook V12 how stiff is the sidewall? Not as stiff as PP2 is it suitable for track? NO Which Potenza are you talking about... RE080, RE001 ???? RE080 is nothing la... just name only performance not so good... RE001 is better than KU31 but it cost about RM280/tire for 195/55 R15 now... but KU31 around RM240 kua... it is good for daily drive a lil bit more comfort than RE001, RE001 is a lil stiff for me thats y i skip it... and at that price... i opts for PS3 for better comfort and lasting threads... Is it true? 1st of all are you ready to put RM350~RM400/tire and around RM1500 to RM1600 for 1 set tire change... don keep on telling me 16" and 17" tires only cost you below RM300... those tires are not as good as your PP2 that you are using currently except Hankook V12 and Kumho KU31, they are close but i do not think they are still under RM300 now because recent price hike on all the tires... QUOTE(Edwin89 @ Apr 22 2011, 09:23 AM) Thanks Michael. Do you know how much is Michelin PS3 and Kumho KU31 in 205/45R16? How is Hankook V8? They quote me V8 RM300 for 205/45R16 and RM360 for V12 205/40R17. What different between rotated tire and directional tire? I'm really noob on this,so need some advice from professional like you. Hahaha I'm not pro la... just like to study into tire's practical usageV8 is older version of V12 la... V12 is the newer version, both is directional tires... for that price it works quite good... but directional tires are not quiet for your info... PS3 is Asymmetric tires which is slightly quieter than directional, it depends on your car noise insulation and also the air pressure you put... Kumho KU31 should be around V8rs in price but PS3 confirm it is over RM400/pc... 17" is a lil over for me... even i don like to upgrade to 16"... i have a Vios '05 also but using only 15" but i use good tires... if i were you i'll stick to 15" but use better tires... wider tires doesn't not give you better grip if the tire's material sucks... ** Price which is before Jan '11 is not accurate as there is a price hike by then... Is Kumho better than v8? thread life? well wet grip i think both also very near... but V12 is better as i heard... coz i never use V8rs b4... thread life also around there... depends a lot of car weight, the road condition that u always go thru and also ur driving style... i heard ppl using at MPV worn out after 30k km have to change, but my fren on Vios stock about 50% left for front and 70% at rear, used more than 20k km... mine better i think 70% for all round cos i rotate and only use around 15k km only... photo of my PS3 for your reference... taken during yesterday when i change my driveshaft boot cover... Any recommend? cheap and quiet.. Where is cheap? Mind to give me the shop name? shah alam and Klang area and Kajang area.. thank you This post has been edited by frint: Apr 23 2011, 02:59 AM |

QUOTE(frint @ Apr 23 2011, 01:01 AM) hi sifu michael, not sure leh... Klang u can go to Jalan Kapar... Ban Hooi or Hin Leong... 185/55/15 i am using Goodyear NCT5. i feel very noisy and not comfortable. wavy for rear tires. but havent thin. if i change the front tires only, any effect? if i plan change to Continental or Yokohama C drive 2? Any recommend? cheap and quiet.. Where is cheap? Mind to give me the shop name? shah alam and Klang area and Kajang area.. thank you 185/55 R15... that tire i throw away after 50% wear... the grip in wet is sucks, down slope i brake slowly also it activated my ABS... after change to Michelin PP2, Hankook V12, now Michelin PS3 no such problem... even my PP2 wears until the thread indicator it's grip in wet is definitely better than NCT5... if you wanna have comfort... C Drive 2 is for you... never trusted Conti tires after 1 set, give me problem only... CC5 is a new tire but it is also an entree level tire, so it does not attracts me... i'm more prefer towards premium comfort or performance tires... as it the performance of both is better than entree level... skip Bridgestone MY-01 or the turanza series, Conti CC1/CC5/SC1, Yokohama A Drive, Michelin XM1/Certis, Goodyear NCT5/Exellence/Assurance and some others... those grip is ok ok although it's description is written with nice flowerish things but the grip isn't that good... Yokohama C Drive 2 have this size meh??? hmmm might consider it also if it has... i also need a soft tire for my conti... my prefer tire for 185/55 R15 Michelin PS3, this size is a lil odd also so many ppl change to other 195/50 R15 (alternative for 185/55 R15, closest size to it) or even 195/55 R15 (more comfort, a lil larger than ori size).. for 195/50 R15 or 195/55 R15 u can try few others like Yokohama C Drive 2, Michelin Primacy LC, Hankook Blackbird V2, Continental Premium Contact 2(premium comfort range)... then the performance range (performance tires normally a lil noisy and not as comfort as the premium comfort) u can choose Michelin PS3, Federal 595 Evo, Toyo T1R or DRB, Hankook V12, Kumho ESPT (KU-31)... happy surveying... |
