As per requested, Im taking over Muchi job to update the list of credit card that usable/not usable in PSN. In other word, i already kick Muchi's butt real hard laugh.gif ..j/k ph34r.gif

So to retain the originality, i'll copy & paste Muchipost to here and will be using his referral method for future update.
For those are intrested with the original post, click here

QUOTE(Muchi @ Dec 8 2007, 10:52 PM)
Usability of AmBank NextG card varies from user to user. Some could use it for the US PSN, some could not. we still dont know the excat reason why this happen

US PSN

Accepted cards:
Gift/Debit/Prepaid card:
AmBank NextG - squiggles (v4, 121, 2405)
EON Bank MOL Freedom MasterCard - needs confirmation.

Credit Card:
Maybank Amex - auto-populate billing address usable. Confirmed by aiman04 (v4, 116, 2320) - No longer usable

NON-Accepted cards:
Gift/Debit/Prepaid card:
AmBank NextG - snipersnake (v4, 117, 2322)

Credit Card:
CIMB MasterCard - not usable. Confirmed by whtan2000 (v4, 120, 2398)
Maybank MasterCard - not usable. Confirmed by whtan2000, VashTheStampede and Muchi
Maybank VISA - not usable. Confirmed by VashTheStampede and myself
Standard Chartered Mastercard - not usable. Confirmed by logic_life (v4, 118, 2343)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ASIA PSN (Hong Kong, Singapore)

Accepted cards:
Gift/Debit/Prepaid card:
AmBank NextG - usable for SG PSN. Random SG address used. Ryo (2, 29)
Public Bank VISA Electron - altered billing address. Country is under Singapore but with a Malaysian address. Confirmed by skincladalien (v4, 118, 2355)

Credit Card:
Maybank Amex - Confirmed by aiman04 (v4, 118, 2348)
Maybank Mastercard - auto-populate billing address usable. My own experience.
MBF MasterCard - Confirmed by lorddevil (v4, 118, 2341)
Standard Chartered Mastercard - Confirmed by logic_life (v4, 118, 2343)

NON-Accepted cards:
Gift/Debit/Prepaid card:

Credit Card:
Notes from the community:
- In billing address, make sure the postal code matches the city & state, US PSN server checks that! Other lines like street, I think should be OK. - aiman04 (v4, 120, 2388)
- Check whether your credit card permits online transactions. - in reference to the post by whtan2000 (v4, 121, 2407)
Note:
1. Bracket beside names are for (thread version, page, post#)
2. Please state whether the billing address that you used with your purchase is the one from your PSN account, which is auto-populated when you check out
-OR-
the billing address was altered abit before you check out. Example: Malaysia address but US postcode.
Lol thank God I saved everything on MWord..  laugh.gif

USABLE / NOT USABLE (select which one that is applicable)

Debit/Credit Card Name : (for example, Citibank Business credit card)
Debit/Credit Card Type : (VISA, AMEX, MASTERCARD or others)
Card Issuer Name : (usually name of the Bank)
Billing Address : refer to the #Note area on the above quote

This list will be updated from time to time if there's a new addition to the list. icon_rolleyes.gif

ISSUES

American Axpress Card No Longer Usable.

Based on the source from Official Sony Playsation Forum, it seem SCEA has impose AVS(Address Verification System) for all credit card used in US PSN. All card that was not issued from USA wont be accepted into the system which means Maybank Amex user are screwed

Entropay

Sony finally has blocked Entropay from being used for US PSN. any futher attempt is FUTILE unless Sony backed down & let others use Entropay into US PSN. But the issue wont settle since Sony has issue an AVS for all the card keyed into the system. Now we're double screwed

Hope & Alternatives

Since the only method that Sony permitted us to use is tru US PSN Card, there are 3 options now;

OPTION 1: Buy from your favorite seller/online store in LY.N Garage Sales

Some seller like pbbseller(Impulse Megastore) & others sell US PSN card at a decent price and some reported that you'll get the code sms'd to you in 1 minute(source Mgsrulz).
Even Gamershideout carry this card albeit a bit expensive compare to the rest but nonetheless it still consider convenient compare to the rest of the 2 option

OPTION 2: Buy from Play-Asia or Amazon

If you fancy to get the physical card with you then you can look for this 2 alternative site. There's others online shopping site offer the card but bear in mind that you need to pay the posting expenses for the item (except for PA)

OPTION 3: Buy from maximuscards.com or Ebay seller

Maximuscards.com provide convenience for those who have paypal account and based on my experience, the codes will be send to you via email around 1-2 minutes. But keep in you mind that the price are bit expensive.

if you buying from ebay, MAKE SURE you read the TRANSACTION DETAILS first. If there's something like "i'll email you the new username & password...blabla BS BS.." i can say is it's 90% scam and your PS3 are in the risk to be banned by Sony. sure, you still get the USD150 for the price of USD50, but if the seller use a stolen Credit Card to fund money to the account then your PS3 MAC address will be banned and you're force to play PS3 game offline. Keep in mind that there's only USD10, USD20 & USD50 card are OFFICIALLY from Sony. There's no USD150 card or winning from lucky draw or whatever BS they may say . i know there's some legitimate seller using this method but my advise is, better safe than sorry

back to the point, there's some seller in Ebay selling the code just like maximuscards with the price range difference around 1-3 dollar cheaper and transaction usually take around 5 minutes depending who the seller is and what his dealing method(verification email and such). the only issue in this method is TRUST. if you want to try out, start with USD10 first to experiment the seller's responsiveness

OPTION 4: Buy from Amazon.com

Amazon now offer 10,20 & 50 USD PSN code. it work just like maximus card without the extra charges(the code will be prompt on the screen after payment is complete). You can buy directly using credit card but make sure the seller is "Amazon Digital Services, Inc." as you can see the word Sold by Amazon Digital Services, Inc. below the product. Why this is matter coz others than Amazon Digital Services, Inc. PSN cards are actually selling the physical card that will be posted to your address with a shipping fee.

The catch? it need US address as the item restriction is set for US resident only. but fear not, you can register vPost account (http://www.vpost.com/malaysia/) and create a US address for you. I dunno whether you can just use random US address from google search or not.

sample link of PSN card code sold by Amazon

-all credits goes to Synco for this one

This how I get goodies from all 3 regions!
UK PSN - Ask mum to credit my account (can't find another way)
US PSN - using Tunemoney visa card linked to Entropay.
SG PSN - using Tunemoney visa directly!

I suggest pals refrain from buying R2 titles especially if they plan to be getting DLC unless they have a way to purchase from one of the European PSN stores, in which case they should share the knowledge!

during registration SG account, I gave them f@ke address/postcode in SG.. After finished my shopping with PSN SG, just fill up all your CC details. When the billing address pop up, just skip it. Done.. rclxms.gif I do believe that for SG PSN, Malaysian CC is widely acceptable. Not like PSN EU, I tried so many CC (visa and mastercard). All failed.. not sure about Amex shakehead.gif

www.entropay.com use this virtual visa card , link it to ur real credit card , transfer fund from ur real credit card to the virtual entropay visa card, input the details of the virtual entropay visa card into psn US billing details.

in psn us billing address use fake US address preferably from alaska cause that state no sale tax.

I have been using American Express (Maybank) flawlessly over the US PSN. To get the transaction authorized, for Billing Address use your real one especially the Postal Code field - that's very important to go through the authentication gateway. Just use a US City & State to get through PSN's server code.

Just to share with you on its acceptance. And on the other hand locally, since its business acquisition by Maybank, its acceptance has greatly improved, tapping on the banks' vast merchant network.

well for PSN europe (R2), if you got a HSBC Credit card, then yes as long the card is visa verified, it should work.

My HSBC card works for both R1 and R2 PSN's

Hi guys. Can anyone tell me if the following works ? :

1. New Entropay account to do purchase at US PSN. (I heard there are not much problem with old accounts but not sure about newly registered ones)

2. Does the newly launch RHB Cash Connect Visa Debit Card work on SG PSN (cause MY PSN stuff is expensive tongue.gif + my old RHB Cash Connect Master Debit Card don't work anymore sad.gif ). If not does any RHB bank credit card work ?

Thanks.

hello guys, thanks to you all. I managed to purchase PSN FF8 this morning through Entropay.

but there is something I need clarification,
I had loaded USD 20.00 into my Entropay then I proceeded to purchase FF8 at USD 9.99 (chose Alaska hence no taxes), but then when I checked back my Entropay account, my balance has became only USD 9.01.

Meaning to say, bought FF8 alone cost me USD 10.99!!

Then I looked at the Entropay fees structure again, I don't think it has mentioned anything like extra charges upon purchasing right?

So, may I know for those who has experience with Entropay, does Entropay apply any hidden charges to you everytime you purchase online using their services?

thanks for any clarification

if i use CC amex .. 10 usd = Rm10 X 3.4 ( ikut current rate ) = 34

kalau 20 Usd = RM68 ( if i use CC amex )

as the Thread Starter, i also agree with that but by looking at the bigger picture, better not.

Let the pinned topic focus on general issue/faq rather than this specific portion of PSN and the TS of the pinned PS3 FAQs for Beginner thread has kindly put the link of this topic inside it.

in worst case scenario, i'll be the one who gonna reply the person who ask question regarding the CC usage and ask him to go to the link at my siggy smile.gif

For those with MY or SG credit card, always check your bill later and see how much they ALSO charge you for cross border conversion fee when using it on foreign PSN (eg. UK, US, JPN, etc). Don't be naive and the banks aren't stupid and they also want to make money with those extra fees for currency exchange. This is not the same thing as conversion rate itself. Some credit cards have this, some may not, and a lot of them hid them in fine print. It depends your credit card - check with your banks!

it is cheaper for me to use my credit cards on the PSN than for me to actually exchange money from a money changer. what you have said is not always true.

i just bought a USD$5 in US PSN using my amex cc... in my bill it charge me RM16.43...
using the amex currency converter here...
after converted USD$5 = RM16.04... amex will charge 2.5% to the total of the conversion value... it is 25 cent for every RM10...
so... for RM16.04 * 2.5% = 40 cent... total is RM16.44 and they charge RM16.43 might be because the conversion rate at the time of the charges is lower...

u can decide for yourself for using the cc over the psn or not... make sure u read the agreement of the foreign purchase with the bank dat issue cc to u...

there's nothing wrong with sharing account, but most of the suspended id cases were mainly about you using stolen CC or someone reported the id to Sony coz you arent suppose to buy from US PSN store

well... the first reason is out coz i use my own CC to purchase... and i make sure there is no outstanding balance in my bills...
maybe its the 2nd reason... but who the hell would report to Sony??? vmad.gif
or... is Sony have some "pick the unlucky account" program to randomly pick the psn account and check their details (address and names)???

if this the case... maybe we should be carefull when using our CC over the PSN US accounts... dont become a victim like me... sad.gif
other things dat i can think of is... maybe Sony will check the account details if we made transaction over certain amount?
as for my case... the accounts dat been suspended is with transaction of USD14.99 and above...

what are u guys highest transaction at one time over the PSN US?

sorry if my post is off topic... sad.gif

want to update that based on several report on the net, it seem PSN US already block Entropay card...and it look like this one gonna be a permanent one as some report said they going to do the Address Verification Check for all card

Entropay response:

Dear xx,

Thank you for your email.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

As we have now had feedback from other PlayStation users, it appears that PlayStation may now be doing an AVS (Address Verification System) check on the cards used for depositing which we do not support.

Unfortunately we have no control over merchants payment systems but hope that this issue may be resolved.
We hope the above attends to your query however should you require further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely

Damn. I just created an Entropay card to find it's useless.

However, paypal users rejoice!
You cab buy the psn card here (USD 20 for USD24.95 about rm 80)
http://www.maximuscards.com/

Seems to be a reliable source which I picked up from sony's forum above on Entropay cards.

Gonna be trying this service soon.

Added on July 9, 2010, 1:23 pmBought USD 20 and it works all OK!!!
You get your code once the payment is done via paypal, in seconds smile.gif

ts should update the first page since entropay & credit cards don't work on us store anymore. psn cards are the only way to buy stuff there now & i recommend MAXIMUS CARDS to buy psn cards because it's fast & convenient for anyone who has a credit card & paypal account.

referring to your first post about maximuscards, they will deliver the codes to your email in a matter of seconds. not 1 or 2 minutes and they are not expensive. they are very convenient especially if you only want to buy USD10 psn cards because nobody in lyn garage sales want to sell USD10 psn cards to you.

i dont recommend to use CC in US PSN... even though it will let u through... then after u buy something and they tried to charge it to your CC and only found out it is outside US they assume it as stolen card and blocked your account... this is what happened to me last time... sad.gif

is it? last time i use it kinda take around 1 minute for the code to arrive. i guess it depend on the email server.

people i asked said it kinda expensive but it all is just a relative term. expensive or not is all depend on the buyer. if you're stingy or in a polite term "value the money" even extra USD2 will make a huge difference laugh.gif people who previously use Entropay only need to pay extra USD 1 for USD20 topup..cant blame them for making noise about it tongue.gif

Yes it is fast if you are using a credit card that has been registered with Verified by Visa or MastarCard SecureCode. They only just started to implement it on their website. Like you said, before they were a bit slow. Now it's super fast.

For me, buying USD10 PSN cards from maximus comes to about RM40. So it's cheap because I don't need to buy USD20 cards from local sellers who are always out of stock of USD10 cards.

as far as i know, your info on PSN must exactly match the info on your card. if there is any error, PSN will tell you your info is not valid.

Huh? That's odd. They didn't deduct from mine btw.

Funny, when i tried to change to the exact same address as in my bank info, it says, "info not match" or something like that. I change back to my old address & it accept.

Aiseh, gonna try again tomorow.

Hmm..exactly what i said. Still the same address but not really same in term of spelling or city.

For example in my Debit card info had JLN for jalan but on psn it's jalan. Other than that,Klang is the city in my card info where else on psn it's not Klang.

Wouldn't it make sense for people to buy Region 3 games if they want DLC? That way they could use their own Malaysian credit cards.

That's true, I didn't think about that.

Thankfully I get most of my games in the UK and try and buy R2 games when I buy them here so I can use my UK credit card for those.

Debit/Credit Card Type : Mastercard
Card Issuer Name : Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia
Billing Address : Based on cardholder info.

Just got this card this afternoon and tested it on HOME Malaysia. It works wonders. Make sure the billing info is the same address as you use in your card info..but be sure you won't be block after frequent use..icon_rolleyes.gif

Every time you try to update the billing information for Maybank Debit card, it will charge RM1. Even though no purchase has been done. Is this normal?

Better set it one time right and leave it be...

im using MBB Debit Card on PSN... wave.gif
what i notice is when the first time i registered my debit card info, it was charge rm1.
fund my wallet rm30 and buy some goodies at ps-store and notice there is no extra rm1 charge from buying stuff there.
done buying i delete my card info, registered my card info again on the same week and notice rm1 deduction on my MBB account.

so the moral of the story is leave ur card info if u dont want waste rm1 or delete ur card info if u want to be safe.
anyway it was just a rm1 charge for registering ur card to ur psn account, no big deal tongue.gif

p/s : gonna fund my wallet again this week, will report here again. smile.gif

hi guys,

I've been using my debit card to purchase items at PSN, last transaction was on 17 October 2010, for some reason now I can't top up my PSN wallet and the message "unable to add fund" ..

i did search for solution in google but ends up with nothing, some suggest u follow exactly the same billing addres as the one in your monthly statement (no go), I even deleted my billing address and wait for the 24hrs waiting period before entering the new one (which also yield no result). It did accept my Debit card but still unable to add funds, if u doing it on PC the message "card info invalid" ~ WTF! vmad.gif

so, if u guys ever experience problem such as this one, please do share with me (desperately in need of a Messiah)

FYI:
I'm using Malaysia account
CIMB master card (Debit)

dood, you sent your query to the wrong email address. go to playstation malaysia website and under tech support there is a box for you to send any complaints or query you may have to them. There is also a 1-800 telephone number listed there if you need to talk to them directly.

I don't use debit card and I never have any problems so far with my credit card when buying on MY psn. So either it's a problem with your card (no money) or one of your details does not match your card, like your name.

Guys I've run into a big problem, I tried to buy a US PSN card from Maximus Cards which I've done successfully before, but it failed this time. Not only that, I was actually charged for the damn thing..

QUOTE
Unfortunately, we are unable to process your order at this time. Your credit card is not charged for this transaction.

Unable to charge your card.
Please contact us at info@maximuscards.com to resolve this problem.

If you want, you can click below to continue paying with our other payment options.

That was the message I got, however after doing a check with my bank account, I've lost RM 80 and gotten nothing. I just sent them an e-mail but I don't know what's gonna happen. Statements say nothing also.. bought with Debit Card using the M2U online banking thing. Anyone encounter this before?

EDIT : Ok I went through their FAQ and found this

QUOTE
Payment

Q: What is your credit card and fraud protection policy?

A: Our credit card processor use a sophisticated risk modeling, fraud detection and manual review to make sure that the transaction is not fraudulent. If your credit card billing and/or shipping information triggers an alarm flag by our automated fraud detection system, we could ask for more information from you. If we are unable to verify the information with you or the issuing bank, your order could be delayed or cancelled. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, we shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. We reserve the right to refuse any order.

So does that mean they will give a refund? If so I hope it doesn't take long. Strangely enough I never had this problem before..

EDIT2 : Turns out it was a problem on their end. Got my code 5 minutes after I sent them an e-mail. Disappointed at the little hiccup but pleased I didn't lose my cash in the end..

if buying stuff, psn store will deduct the exact amount from your CC to add to the wallet. so there's no reason to add funds to wallet using CC.

however the minimum amount you can charge to your CC will be RM15. anything above RM15 will be deducted to the exact amount of your purchase.

the problem could be:

1) your credit card has reached it's credit limit
2) your credit card is not valid anymore

your only course of action is to call sony technical support, since they have blocked your credit card from being used at psn store.

the cc I'm using is...
Public bank master
CIMB master
UOB visa
3 of them I try is working fine with online transaction but wonder why it could work at psn....

Amazon only sell US psn card to US citizens only. If you put fake address, they will check and put your account on hold.\

So whoever said "to hell with maximus" must be feeling really stupid now. whistling.gif

I've been using fake address on Amazon and are able to purchase their digital download content.
Just make sure the address you entered matches the US standard for address and you will be fine.

Hi guys, planning to buy PSN online code through Amazon.

My question is can the code be shared among different PSN accounts? For example, I redeem code first using my US account and download some thing. Then switch to Japan account and still have remaining credits.

This needs to be updated.

I've suddenly found a problem with purchasing from SG PSN.
Have been using Maybank VISA credit card all this time and only today I've found it's stated 'Can't add funds to wallet'.
Anyone can clarify this or is it just a problem on my side? hmm.gif

Le sigh. I thought buying the cards are actually more expensive. since the seller will tend to want to make profit from them.

Well, that's the 'lesser of 2 evils' i suppose.. the most evil being..NOT being able to purchase at all..! but their mark-ups on the cards aren't so ridiculous i suppose..

some simple steps and tips to buy from bestbuy.

1. read this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/null/null/pcmc...cat176600050000

2. create new account at bestbuy, remember to use the address stated above, for phone number, can just enter some random numbers

3. search for "PSN" in the store

4. add those that are listed as (Downloadable Content) to cart - e.g US20, US50, PSNPlus.....
(please don't select those actual PSN cards, those they need to send to a real address in the USA)

5. complete the order by entering MY credit card info. same address.

6. wait for code at email (normally a few hours)

Just made a purchase of USD50 PSN Card from bestbuy using Maybank Amex.

Received confirmation from maybank thru SMS.

Now waiting for the code biggrin.gif

EDIT: Maybank Amex Transaction was cancelled after 7 hours of waiting.

I've tried again with HSBC card, more than 1 hour already still haven't get the code.

Am I doing anything wrong? Billing address have to put the Houston, Texas address or my own address??

EDIT 2: Finally got my code using HSBC CC. 1 hour wait. Just bought Journey biggrin.gif

I see. Thank you.
But I think if I ordered now I will have to wait till evening no? Cos now is the night time in there place right?

By the way, I am creating an account there... so what should I put for the ZIP code? The one I registered with US PSN zip code?
Thanks

*edit
Done with the account creation... now for the Credit Card info, what address should I use?
Am I going to use the actual address in Malaysia or a fake address with their Zip Code? I am using Juneau Alaska for my PSN cos it is tax free

I just use back the same address I use for shipping, which is an US address or you can actually use the address provided by Bestbuy for international customer here

Nope I bought twice from Bestbuy and both times works ok, maybe try calling your bank and check. Could be they flag multiple purchase on the same site.

HI all, i bring gd news again for US PSN User,

this time, the official page of US PSN buy $20 and $50 link works.

which in conjunction with Amazon digital inc.

I bought a $20 code within a minute with a local UOB one card.

follow the instruction then the code pop out within a minute after it gets approved by your local C.Card company.
(in my case, i receive a sms from uob)

then just follow the instruction to open a link, a code appear, immediately to avoid any mistake , i use my phone take a foto for the code.

Then, i went to SEN webpage to log in my psn ID (US PSN Account)
and reload with the code under the wallet session.

VIOLA, $20 reloaded. super easy...............
u guys can have a try, and do the community a favor to share your c.card experience in buying the card.

P/S : there is a term in the AMAZON DIGITAL INC that this code can be only buy and use in US, i dint really giv a crap bout it and proceed.
buy it with your own risk, but i bought it anyway.... XD

Hi guys,
I also found out for US PSN account you can also use paypal.
But please note that you need to login on their web instead thru ps3 and it is under add funds.
I not sure why they didnt advertise much on that function.

Hope OP updated this thread (y)

I have been using my Debit Card from CIMB for 6 months for PSN Malaysia and it work perfectly fine, but you cannot just add the card like that,it will be total error

You need to create CIMB Clicks and link it with bank account, and then link your phone number to your bank account and CIMB Clicks account (your phone act as Debit Card statement),then create Paypal and add your phone number to paypal and then try adding your CIMB Debit Card to Paypal, you should received a text message from CIMB that PAYPAL **** CODE RM10 (don't worry, the RM10 go to your Paypal),enter the code at Paypal to activate it and you're done

Try to add your Debit Card to your PSN MY account, you will received RM3 charge I think, and then you can buy any game you want at PSN by using your Debit Card icon_rolleyes.gif just make sure you got enough balance in your bank account or else it won't work tongue.gif

As a bonus things, your Paypal also can be used anywhere in the internet as long as Paypal option is available

Dunno about DC, but last time MBB blocked payment on Google, PayPal. Need to make a call and let them know how much u wanna paid to the merchant, then they will clear it for one time payment only.

prepaid cards are strictly tied to the country's currency.
it won't work with US PSN.

Maybank visa debit card started working again for psn malaysia. It stopped working a few months back, so it was a surprise when my purchase went through.

Having the same problem here. I called Maybank to unblock & activated oversea debit in Maybank2u, doesn't seem to work either.

So frustrating.
