Usability of AmBank NextG card varies from user to user. Some could use it for the US PSN, some could not. we still dont know the excat reason why this happen

Gift/Debit/Prepaid card:
AmBank NextG - squiggles (v4, 121, 2405)
EON Bank MOL Freedom MasterCard - needs confirmation.

Credit Card:
Maybank Amex - auto-populate billing address usable. Confirmed by aiman04 (v4, 116, 2320) - No longer usable

NON-Accepted cards:
Gift/Debit/Prepaid card:

Standard Chartered Mastercard - not usable. Confirmed by logic_life (v4, 118, 2343)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ASIA PSN (Hong Kong, Singapore)

Accepted cards:
Gift/Debit/Prepaid card:

MBF MasterCard - Confirmed by lorddevil (v4, 118, 2341)
Standard Chartered Mastercard - Confirmed by logic_life (v4, 118, 2343)

NON-Accepted cards:
Gift/Debit/Prepaid card:

Credit Card:
Notes from the community:
- In billing address, make sure the postal code matches the city & state, US PSN server checks that! Other lines like street, I think should be OK. - aiman04 (v4, 120, 2388)
- Check whether your credit card permits online transactions. - in reference to the post by whtan2000 (v4, 121, 2407)
Note:
1. Bracket beside names are for (thread version, page, post#)
2. Please state whether the billing address that you used with your purchase is the one from your PSN account, which is auto-populated when you check out
-OR-
the billing address was altered abit before you check out. Example: Malaysia address but US postcode.
Lol thank God I saved everything on MWord..  laugh.gif

ISSUES

American Axpress Card No Longer Usable.

Based on the source from Official Sony Playsation Forum, it seem SCEA has impose AVS(Address Verification System) for all credit card used in US PSN. All card that was not issued from USA wont be accepted into the system which means Maybank Amex user are screwed

Entropay

Sony finally has blocked Entropay from being used for US PSN. any futher attempt is FUTILE unless Sony backed down & let others use Entropay into US PSN. But the issue wont settle since Sony has issue an AVS for all the card keyed into the system. Now we're double screwed

Hope & Alternatives

Since the only method that Sony permitted us to use is tru US PSN Card, there are 3 options now;

OPTION 1: Buy from your favorite seller/online store in LY.N Garage Sales

Some seller like pbbseller(Impulse Megastore) & others sell US PSN card at a decent price and some reported that you'll get the code sms'd to you in 1 minute(source Mgsrulz).
Even Gamershideout carry this card albeit a bit expensive compare to the rest but nonetheless it still consider convenient compare to the rest of the 2 option

OPTION 2: Buy from Play-Asia or Amazon

If you fancy to get the physical card with you then you can look for this 2 alternative site. There's others online shopping site offer the card but bear in mind that you need to pay the posting expenses for the item (except for PA)

OPTION 3: Buy from maximuscards.com or Ebay seller

Maximuscards.com provide convenience for those who have paypal account and based on my experience, the codes will be send to you via email around 1-2 minutes. But keep in you mind that the price are bit expensive.

if you buying from ebay, MAKE SURE you read the TRANSACTION DETAILS first. If there's something like "i'll email you the new username & password...blabla BS BS.." i can say is it's 90% scam and your PS3 are in the risk to be banned by Sony. sure, you still get the USD150 for the price of USD50, but if the seller use a stolen Credit Card to fund money to the account then your PS3 MAC address will be banned and you're force to play PS3 game offline. Keep in mind that there's only USD10, USD20 & USD50 card are OFFICIALLY from Sony. There's no USD150 card or winning from lucky draw or whatever BS they may say . i know there's some legitimate seller using this method but my advise is, better safe than sorry

back to the point, there's some seller in Ebay selling the code just like maximuscards with the price range difference around 1-3 dollar cheaper and transaction usually take around 5 minutes depending who the seller is and what his dealing method(verification email and such). the only issue in this method is TRUST. if you want to try out, start with USD10 first to experiment the seller's responsiveness

OPTION 4: Buy from Amazon.com

Amazon now offer 10,20 & 50 USD PSN code. it work just like maximus card without the extra charges(the code will be prompt on the screen after payment is complete). You can buy directly using credit card but make sure the seller is "Amazon Digital Services, Inc." as you can see the word Sold by Amazon Digital Services, Inc. below the product. Why this is matter coz others than Amazon Digital Services, Inc. PSN cards are actually selling the physical card that will be posted to your address with a shipping fee.

The catch? it need US address as the item restriction is set for US resident only. but fear not, you can register vPost account (http://www.vpost.com/malaysia/) and create a US address for you. I dunno whether you can just use random US address from google search or not.

sample link of PSN card code sold by Amazon

-all credits goes to Synco for this one

as the Thread Starter, i also agree with that but by looking at the bigger picture, better not.

Let the pinned topic focus on general issue/faq rather than this specific portion of PSN and the TS of the pinned PS3 FAQs for Beginner thread has kindly put the link of this topic inside it.

in worst case scenario, i'll be the one who gonna reply the person who ask question regarding the CC usage and ask him to go to the link at my siggy smile.gif

Credit Card infomation not valid

i also tried with Citibank and OCBC.. all also gave me the same error

today i ask another friend to try also same thing... does this mean that SG PSN is no longer accepting malaysian credit cards???

ive been using my Maybank Amex Gold Credit Card in US PSN... all seems ok to me...
but few days ago... some of my US PSN accounts have been suspended...

yes bro... those account is my shared account... is there a problem using amex credit card for shared account?
*
there's nothing wrong with sharing account, but most of the suspended id cases were mainly about you using stolen CC or someone reported the id to Sony coz you arent suppose to buy from US PSN store

QUOTE(nwk @ Aug 17 2010, 09:14 AM)
referring to your first post about maximuscards, they will deliver the codes to your email in a matter of seconds. not 1 or 2 minutes and they are not expensive. they are very convenient especially if you only want to buy USD10 psn cards because nobody in lyn garage sales want to sell USD10 psn cards to you.
*
is it? last time i use it kinda take around 1 minute for the code to arrive. i guess it depend on the email server.

people i asked said it kinda expensive but it all is just a relative term. expensive or not is all depend on the buyer. if you're stingy or in a polite term "value the money" even extra USD2 will make a huge difference laugh.gif people who previously use Entropay only need to pay extra USD 1 for USD20 topup..cant blame them for making noise about it tongue.gif
