Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos has admitted his future at the club is uncertain and has revealed he would like to return to Italy.

The Swiss international has just completed a season long loan with Milan and will now return to north London.

Yet with the Gunners already linked with a host of defenders this summer, including Ajax skipper Thomas Vermaelen, Senderos has insisted he cannot see a future for himself at the Emirates.

“It depends on Arsenal,” he told the News of the World.

“I want to continue at Milan, because I cannot see a place for me with the Gunners.”

The Swiss arrived at Arsenal in 2003 from Servette and, despite being a valuable squad player, has failed to nail down a place in the starting XI.

Manager Arsene Wenger allowed the 24-year-old to spend last season in Italy, but Arsenal struggled at times defensively last season, particularly late on, as both William Gallas and Gael Clichy were injured.

However, Senderos made just 12 appearances for Milan last season and Adriano Galliani has admitted that the club will not be signing him on a permanent deal.
