huhuhuh... no news anymore eh? CRon set to sign for RM July 1. you'll be getting more and more news now that preseason will start soon.

I do hope those involved with interlull get their deserved rest and come back stronger.

we've seen our players injured/burnt out from playing internationals.... Euro.. ANC... friendlies. sucks...

on a side.. kudos to Walcott and Gibbs.. biggrin.gif

So, is there any confirmation that Walcott is going to play BOTH under England U-21 AND the National First Team?

he's playing for U21 right now. so far, Capello haven't call on him just yet.

I think he already spend a lot of time in U21 squad. that's why AW is concern.

hopefully Capello don't need him for senior squad at the moment. BTW,England already qualify for WC next year. They only need 1 win to secure 1st place. Next senior friendly is against Netherlands in august... then slovenia in Sept before facing Croatia in WCQ. I sincerely hope Capello will call on Walcott but don't use him full force in friendlies.

Well, it's still a long way to go before confirming Ade's sale. Maybe it's just a tactic or smokescreen. If possible, I prefer NO player leaving Arsenal. smile.gif

I believe in team continuity will bring you success.

yeah.. team continuity and understanding is very important.

anyway, ade has been unsettle since last season. .. and $ has always been his priorities. Look at how him and his agent played for a new contract last year. with the new tax rate coming in, it's only academic that he'll leave.

If we can squeeze 25m for Ade (why would anyone do that is beyond me, but that's not our problem!), I'm sure we can find 5m plus to top up the difference.

Provided of course, our board doesn't pocket the 25m for other purposes la...

I really cannot convince myself that AW will spend 30m for Benzema - even if part of the money comes from Ade's sale.

Even the rumours are flying around like nobody's business, I do not read anything that AW SUPER LIKE Benzema wink.gif

Report: Arsenal To Battle Manchester United & Real Madrid For Karim Benzema shakehead.gif sweat.gif
The Gunners are allegedly ready for a rare venture to the top table of the transfer market...

According to the News of the World, Arsenal are set to announce their interest in the highly sought-after Olympique Lyonnais striker, Karim Benzema.

The 21-year-old is currently in the midst of a tug-of-war between Manchester United and Real Madrid, with Lyon and the player's agent admitting that both super-clubs are genuinely interested.

It is thought that it will take upwards of €30 million to prise Benzema away from the Stade Gerland, a sum that would usually rule a team of the Gunners' nature out of the bidding altogether.

However, recent reports suggest that the London side are seriously considering offers for Emmanuel Adebayor, as Milan have declared that they are chasing the Togolese forward.

The board at Ashburton Grove will let Arsene Wenger decided whether or not to offload 25-year-old 'Ade', who is expected to fetch in the vicinity of €35 million.

These claims are as yet unsubstantiated, but the development of the Adebayor situation could give a big hint as to their validity.

even if we sell adebayor, i don't think we need to buy a replacement. i say give Bendtner the chance and promote Walcott/Vela.

WENG’S £40M RIB BID

ARSENAL have entered the race to land French ace Franck Ribery – for a club record £40million.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger believes he is now close to -pulling off one of the transfer coups of the summer and -winning the race to sign the Bayern Munich winger.

Until the last couple of weeks Ribery, 26, was destined for one of EuropeÌs giants Ò with Man United, Barcelona and Real Madrid all in the hunt.

But despite the huge interest and several offers of around £30m, Bayern stubbornly refused to sell for anything less than £40m.

And that suddenly left Arsenal in pole position, even though Wenger has long made it clear he cannot compete with his rivals when it comes to buying the biggest names in the game.Ü

Yet an offer of £30m Ò plus £10m-rated Danish hitman Nicklas Bendtner to make up the difference Ò appears to have struck a chord with new Bayern coach Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman has made it clear he does not want unsettled players at the club Ò and reckons that ArsenalÌs cash-and-player deal represents good business for the Bundesliga boys.

Manchester City are the only other club still monitoring developments but Ribery has told the big-spending Premier League outfit he wants Champions League football next term.

It is that, combined with the strong French connection at the Emirates, which is convincing Ribery his future lies with the north London club.

Wenger has been desperate to keep the negotiations under wraps to avoid alerting United or Barca.Ü

A four-year trophy drought, their poor showing in the Premier League last term and the need to prove to Cesc Fabregas and Co they will be challenging for the top honoursÜ means that Arsenal mean business.

And our source close to ArsenalÌs top brass confirmed: ÏRibery was on the agenda at a recent board meeting Ò and it could even be a done deal by now. WeÌre very optimistic.Ó

Wow, Ribery. That would be a dream come thru for any Arsenal fans. But at this point, we shall only treat this as rumous. And thru the years of supporting Arsenal, i've even heard of rumous of Ronaldo(Brazilian) signing for us.

blah blah benzema... blah blah ribery... aint happening. with the probable money we will get from ade's probably departure, the most we will probably get is melo or cana. i dont see us getting a striker, unless nicky goes too.
