Arsenal captain Francesc Fabregas, who was subject to a disappointing season due to a long-term complex knee injury sustained during a clash with Xabi Alonso in a game against Liverpool, has revealed his frustrations at the Gunners' inability to claim silverware.
Fabregas is currently on international duty with Spain, participating in the 2009 Confederations Cup staged in South Africa, but took time out to comment on his club side, Arsenal.
“I have been through a season of injuries, without winning any title with Arsenal and I have not been happy with it,” Fabregas explained to Spanish press agency EFE.
However, he was swift to add that competing for Spain, and having a real chance of adding the Confederations Cup to the European Championship that the nation scooped last summer, served as a tonic for the frustrations built up from Arsenal's barren run.
“Coming over with the national team has been total liberation for me. I feel happy to be able to be playing in the Confederations Cup with this top-quality team.”
Emmanuel Eboue Could Leave Arsenal For First-Team FootballThe Ivorian international is unlikely to tolerate another season watching on from the bench...

Arsenal's versatile defender-cum-midfielder Emmanuel Eboue, often a maligned and under-rated utility man who was even booed by his own fans after becoming a substituted substitute, has hinted that his future may be spent away from Ashburton Grove.
The Ivory Coast international wants to enjoy regular first-team football, which is unlikely to happen at Arsenal due to Bacary Sagna being preferred at right-back, and Theo Walcott being seen as a more effective player at right-wing.
He told France-Football, “[Leaving] would be hard, but I think experiencing another season like this one would be even harder, spending more time away from the pitch.”
He continued, “At the end of the day, if I leave Arsenal, I will move to another league because playing somewhere else in England is out of the question.”
Eboue, 26, joined the Gunners in the winter window in 2005, played his way into Arsene Wenger's first-team plans and was one member of a formidable defensive four during the club's Champions League run to the final in Paris in 2006. He made 28 league appearances last season.
Internazionale have been linked in the past with a move for Eboue.
Arsenal Want Stuttgart Midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger - ReportThe German international could be set to return to the Premier League...

If a report in The Sun is to be believed, English powerhouse Arsenal are considering making a move for Stuttgart midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger. The Gunners are reportedly ready to table a €6 million bid for the Stuttgart captain.
The London side have been in the market for a physically strong central midfielder since the departure of Mathieu Flamini to Milan in the summer of 2008. Manager Arsene Wenger has now reportedly made Hitzlsperger his primary transfer target.
The 27-year-old German international enjoyed a successful Premier League spell at Aston Villa from 2000-'05 before signing for Stuttgart and could be tempted to return to England to represent Arsenal.
Hitzlsperger's current Stuttgart deal is due to expire in 2010, meaning that Stuttgart are very much likely to cash in on their star midfielder this transfer window.
The news will come as a shock for Stuttgart coach Markus Babbel. The Bundesliga outfit face a mass exodus as Mario Gomez has already joined Bayern Munich, while defender Serdar Tasci is continually being linked with Juventus.

Thomas Vermaelen is certain to leave Dutch club Ajax to join Premier League giants Arsenal during the close-season, according to his agent.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, although the speculation has died down a little of late.
However, the 6ft 1in defender's representative Sjaak Swart is confident that the deal is still in line to go through.
"It's more a question of when than one of if it will take place," Swart told Ajaxlife.nl.
It is thought that the 21-time capped Belgium international, who can operate as centre-back or left-back, will command a fee in the region of €11.8 million (£10m).

Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has declared that he would find it difficult to refuse a move to Real Madrid, should they come calling, after it was apparently revealed to him that los Blancos were interested in taking the French international to La Liga.
He has moved swiftly today to reaffirm his loyalty to the Gunners, suggesting that he is wholly committed to remaining at the Emirates Stadium.
"I've seen the quotes attributed to me in the French media today, and I just want to put the record straight," Sky Sports News report the player as saying.
"These comments are not accurate. I'm not aware of any speculation linking me with another club. I'm 100 per cent committed to Arsenal. This is a great club and I'm proud to wear the shirt.
"I'm looking forward to returning for pre-season training in July."
Sagna had earlier told French sources that he wouldn't be averse to a move to Real Madrid, although the player never asserted that he was definitely considering a move.
Cesc Fabregas And Santi Cazorla Injured During Spanish TrainingThe pair could miss the game with Iraq tomorrow...

Cesc Fabregas limped out of training with the Spanish national team today after a strong tackle by Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.
It is the second time that Fabregas has been injured by Alonso this year following on from a tackle in the Premier League game between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates in December.
AS reports that a hard tackle from Alonso damaged the left knee of Fabregas and that, with some annoyance, he left training.
The session was the last before the game with Iraq tomorrow and also featured another tough tackle by Albert Riera on Santi Cazorla.
It is not yet known how serious the injuries are to either Cazorla or Fabregas but it looks almost certain that the Arsenal man will miss the game tomorrow.
During the practice session today Vicente Del Bosque gave Gerard Pique, Carlos Marchena, Juan Mata and Cazorla starts, and they could well begin against Iraq.
Up front it is likely to be the same pairing of Fernando Torres and David Villa, whilst David Silva is recovering well from injury and should play a part again.

As the Russia female national team gear up to face Sweden, England and Italy in the UEFA Women's European Championships in Finland this summer, Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has joined his national team coach Guus Hiddink in supporting the Russian women's side.
Aiming to achieve as much as their male equivalents did 12 months ago, when Hiddink led his squad to the semi-finals of Euro 2008, the women are first charged with the task of seeing off some fierce competition in Group C.
The Russian Football Union have teamed up with several other Russian organisations to launch the 'Be a fan of Russia at EURO 2009' campaign in a bid to raise public awareness and gain support for the female players in the competition.
Andrey Arshavin will be amongst those pledging his allegiance to his country's feminine side, so to speak. "I will follow the tournament and will support Russia," he told uefa.com.
Adding to the support was ex-Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink, who said, "Women's football worldwide is growing and that is great. I'm sure that results in Finland will be historic.
"I hope that more women will play football after these finals. Of course I wish Russia good luck."
