Well, enjoy while it lasts. sweat.gif

Upgrading of a large infrastructure is not a simple process that can be done in a couple of days. As I said in another post, there may be upgrades in the next few weeks as well. Upgrades are done by areas. Then like anything else that changes, there may be some problems arising due to the upgrades which has to be sorted out. Whether we will all eventually benefit from all this, we have to see.

Also, just because TM said they are doing core network upgrade, they did not say our connections will be much better after that. They are upgrading their local backbone  / network infrastructure. While some may see some improvement, the lack of international bandwidth or throttling etc etc will still cause slow connections. It seems users think that as soon as the upgrade is done, everything will be fast. I hope so, but I think the core network upgrade is mainly to cater for the upcoming HSBB. Whether the regular connections will see any improvement remains to be seen.

My 512Kbps line was extremely slow but this new 1Mbps line? I like. So far getting above 100kb/s, highest is 160kb/s from a Softpedia mirror. Only complaint? It took more than a week to upgrade and the 'Check Upgrade Status' page is still showing 'application is being processed' rclxub.gif

I just recieved a info. from a TM staff. He's in LYN too.
He said the core network upgrade is not completed yet. They're still working on it.
So some area still maybe experiencing slowdowns.

He told me when the upgrade is complete, TM will announce the completion of the upgrade on their website ASAP.

Thanks for the info, but this is so typical of screamyx. nothing against your friend, i'm glad we got someone who can give us this info. cos screamyx wont. they also wont post on their website that sarawak and sabah have connection problem for over 4 weeks. telling us there is an upgrade and even put a completion date that they cannot even meet.

btw i'm on a 2MB connection that has a maximum throughput of 0.22mbs for 5 months.
