green tea is good. try substituting with coffee, especially nescafe stuff. there are never good. putting up add 'coffee beans naturally contain antioxidant' is just a trick from them. pls get real beans if u can. and yes u can stop it. just put some effort to brush it off. i was an addict and i got rid of it thought it was hard at first.

It's a mixture of green tea + chrysanthemun. Just go to those tea shop and ask, they'll know.

Another thing, refrain from drinking chinese tea. Go for boh/lipton tea. Boh is better for me. Chinese tea nowadays full of colouring and preservatives.

I got a bit confused here.

There is a difference between Instant "3 in 1" coffee and Nescafe instant coffee.

3 in 1 coffee are the ones with sugar and cream in it I think and the Nescafe instant ones are just from processed robusta beans.

I personally drink like on average 2 cups a day and during exams up to 6. For some apparent reason, lately I have been getting minor headaches and rapid heart rate. Although I do see it as a great source of anti oxidents though.

P:s Feel free to click on my sig, I wrote a story about coffee. More personal rather then Informative. thanks wink.gif

Having heart palpitations due to coffee? This is very much cliche.

You should know that the major physiologically active substance in coffee is the alkaloid caffeine also called guaranine or methyltheobromine, which acts as a mild stimulant.

Regards, Joey

p.s: The key to drinking coffee is that you drink in moderation.

Drink coffee everyday, the more u drink the more earlier u die or get sickness thumbup.gif doh.gif Eat or drink anything moderately, don't do it like an addict. This why people intend to get sick cause they consume it like nobodies business and when some sickness arrives, cry then. Its bloody caffeine. U put sugar or no sugar its still caffeine. Caffeine is also the cause of High blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased risk of stroke. Get your blood pressure checked if it is in the hypertensive or pre-hypertensive range it makes sense to either eliminate or reduce your caffeine intake and stay away from diet pills and energy drinks.

It doesn't matter whatever coffee it could be Arabian or local or anything. Coffee is bad for health. Its never and will never be good for health. People drink it due to the taste and addictiveness, not related to health. I drink like once a week or a month just for the taste of it. Not everyday. Drink water, there is no limit for it. U may drink as much as u want.

We are regularly advised to drink more water: it clears skin, reduces tiredness, aids concentration so on and so forth, right?

I wouldn't say drinking water as much as you like. Drinking several litres over a relatively short period of time could be enough to cause water intoxication.

Regards, Joey

p.s: Try do some readings on hyper-hydration. In layman's term, water poisoning.

I think research already showed up that maximum 2 cups of coffee is enough. I like to drink coffee early morning due to travel to work in kl. I have tried to drink milo , but after 2 -3 hours felt sleepy .

Well, coffee doesn't cut it for me either. I think it's not just the chemical substances that gives but rather our body and mind adaptation to the substances, right?

When i was dieting to drop few kg last time, i fail due to coffee intake. After i stop taking like 3-4 cups of coffee a day, i dont even have to watch my diet. For me, i feel coffee is fattening.

Personally, I don't find that coffee is fattening. I find that coffee makes you hungry faster, so you tend to eat more.

Are you sure? I think it's not caffeine intake contributed in an increase on your weight. You may want to try eating these "Haw flakes".

This is possible, since normal coffee with sugar / condensed milk is very fattening.

What's "Haw flakes?"

One of my favourite indulgence.

Haw flakes are Chinese sweets made from the fruit of the Chinese hawthorn. The dark pink candy is formed into discs one millimeter thick, packaged in rolls of seventeen discs, and sold in packs of ten rolls. Chinese people take the flakes with bitter Chinese herbal medicine.

p.s: I can stomach in the whole packet in one go! Great stuff~~~Haw flakes.
