Instant nescafe / oats / coffee / tea / milo usually comes with a lot of sugar and powder cream (not milk). As such, it's not advisable to drink any instant beverages as it increases your sugar intake.

My healthy alternative of drinking coffee / tea is as follows:
1. Black coffee without sugar / no cream
2. Tea without sugar and with 250ml of fresh milk
3. Tea without both sugar and milk

Drink moderately, anything taken in excess will have adverse effects.

Drink fresh milk if you are not lactose intolerant.

Milo is full of sugar.

Currently i pick up the habit of drinking Nescafe 3 in 1 .... 1 day 1 packet in the morning ... 7 packets per week.

Whats the sugar level in each packet ? If i continues this habit, would i increase the risk of having diabetes ?

What about other side effects ?

Any good effects ?

thanks for helping

I think my browser crashed just as I was posting a reply to you on this matter.

You should be able to tell the sugar level. It's in the big plastic packet that contained all the smaller 3 in 1 packet. It's also a good idea to check out the ingredient list for fat as well. It may be a lot i.e. more than 5 g.

Diabetes can be caused by caffeine but not the only cause and only if you're already in an uncontrolled situation of eating a lot of sugar drinks + food + candy + carbs + deep fried food. It aggravates the situation because it does impact the insulin generation. But it is not the sole cause of diabetes alone.

You can google onlien for side and good effects. Just have a care when reading the good effects because for you to get the benefits, you would need to mimic/follow the conditions that was done in the research. Else, it won't work.

People have different reaction to coffe though. The cleaner their diet is, the stronger the reaction. Why? Their body cells are in a better and optimal positioin compared to other people.

On the flip side, if people are already terminally ill, their body cells are already not functioning well and are in a hyper-sensitive condition that any small stimulus will wake them and yes, that includes drinking coffee.

i drink coffee because of it taste... somemore.. one small packet of coffee u can make plenty cups of coffee. different from milo and tea bags.. to make milo, already use more than 3 table spoon.. so a few day only last for small packet milo. same to tea bags.. how many time can be recycle.. biggrin.gif

coffee is rich in antioxidant.

for me side effect of instant coffee (packet type), just burn hole in my pocket.. with all the price of it.. better i buy one small packet nescafe (~rm5) and a can of sweetened creamer (~rm3) total only ~rm8. i can even make it darker or lite..

spent wise your money.. its not convenient, its how we control the food intake.. if all express and instant.. how do you know what in it.. atleast you can control how many spoon sugar u want..

hahaha..

My hot drink now is Boh tea, just plain. Eventhough drinking coffee won't make you fat, but you will get diabetes someday.

IMO, 1 packet daily is pretty serious. Go drink chinese/green tea or something.

I concur, drinking plain white tea is way better than drinking nescafe. I've read somewhere that drinking green tea will raise your metabolism and fat calorie burning as long as they're sugar free.

I am brewing a mixture of oolong\green tea daily. It's awesome.

I am drinking Genmai Cha atm. It's Green Tea with Brown Rice in them. Taste very very nice.

Although, it's 10 calories per cup. wink.gif

TS - being another coffee lover, i never take Nescafe 3in1. First, i hate the sweetness; 2nd i prefer to control my own cuppa in the way i want it. So, i never take 3in1. I have always enjoyed making my own cup of coffee in my own way.

Of cos it would increase the risk of having diabetes by any chance of intake sugar. Some just get it overly easy than the other, so, beware, even if u r not taking nescafe 3in1.

Side effects - u know it all from above posts.
Good effects - happy. Nothing else i guess tongue.gif

Make sure you find out what is the actual CAUSE for you to pick up such a habit, lazy? fast? enjoy coffe? enjoy the taste from this particualar 3in1 and u cant make it even u have these 3 items in front of u with own measurements? or just bcos enjoying the tea break with buddies smile.gif

I like a cup of Nescafe (regular 3-in-1 or Gold) in the afternoons after lunch. It's the only thing that wakes me up and is the most convenient for the office. Personally prefer coffee black with just Equal but only from the coffee machine and with decent beans, which is what I have in the mornings at home. Nescafe or other instant stuff like that will taste yucky.

As I see it there's nothing wrong with having one cup a day. It's not like he's having 7 cups a day! Just make sure you trade off with something else for the rest of the day in your diet to keep a check on the sugar intake.
