no std pricing cos it's a package with the BD60.. so when split up.. so the TV price depends on how much they can sell off the BD60 separately..

If you use DVD player with HDMI of course better quality than component...that one i can confirm 100% as I used components before I got my HDMI cable....so can do comparison....

But if you use a HTPC, Media Player or Bluray Player which pumps real 1080p out to the TV, its even more clearer than any upscaled DVD player.

wanna ask u guys a question!!!

my dvd player just died.

Since this plasma TV has very good built in upscaling engine already, should i buy a dvd player with upscaling or should i just get a normal dvd player?
*
since no Pros here answer, i will try la, dun merajuk ... tongue.gif

First of all, I dun even know the TV itself can upscale, so if it really can, then no visible difference.

Of course choose DVD with more features like 'upscaling' which prolly comes with HDMI output for best results. Then again, 'upscaling' is often overhyped, dun expect fantastic reproductions.

Finally, you buy a FullHD TV, I suggest u do it justice and get a BD player. Like that, all problem solved nod.gif

yup all HD rez TV got builtin upscaler.. if not (no scaling) then you will only get small image on the centre of the screen and 4 side black bars..

that depends on your GC, if you have one dvi to connect to your monitor and another vga to connect to your hd tv, that's fine.

Welcome yslysl,

You want a DVI-HDMI cable. The DVI output is connected to the PC and HDMI connects to the TV. I got my cable in Low Yat Plaza @ Sri Computers.

If you want to hook up to both monitor and tv, make sure your Graphic Card has two or more output slots. Decent graphic cards have 2 DVI outputs.

Just now went to HSL Circuit City and in Panasonic section, I saw them display fours units of Plasma and all 42 inch. But all four units are different models. G10K, S10K, X10K and C10K.

You know what I saw? All Plasma set the colour correctly except S10K. Seem like one of the colour is missing from S10K model. I am wondering what is HSL up to... hmm.gif

The funny thing is selling price. S10K RM3,999 cash and carry and G10K RM6,399 cash and carry. laugh.gif With such a lousy colour for S10K still dare to sell at RM3,999 with cash and carry... doh.gif

Added on August 29, 2009, 9:18 pmS10K their mentioned it is 1080P and G10K their mentioned 1080 x 1920... shakehead.gif What is the different... whistling.gif

Keng wo, got 1080 x 1920 some more, the TV will look like arcade screen liao.

1080P means 1920 x 1080. So 1080 x 1920 that the saleman mentions must be 1920P lo.
The saleman must be a expert.

Snap a picture of the outputs in your graphic card and post it here.

The following pic compares the s-video, DVI and VGA port.

If you have the VGA port, I suggest you use it for your monitor, and use the DVI port for the TV becuase the TV only support FullHD from HDMI and not from VGA, whereas your monitor should be able to reach full resolution even from a VGA port (provided your monitor does have a VGA port for input).

If you have a a HDMI cable already (I got my free with the TV) then your could purchase this:

Then connect your HDMI cable between this and your TV.

But if you do not already have a HDMI cable, you could get one of this instead:

This connect's your DVI directly to HDMI port in your TV.

As for why people wanna connect their TV to the computer, well for me that's because I do not have a Bluray player, and I can't afford Blurays discs (They don't even sell it at the place where I live). So my PC is the only thing that is able to output my 1080P *ahem* files downloaded from the internet to FullHD. That way I also save some money from buying a HT system as my creative sound card and creative speakers does a decent job in 5.1 surround sound as well.

edit: Typo
