QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Aug 27 2009, 09:41 PM) in my bed room, using 2feet tiles to count, I sit 4 tiles away (8ft or 96inches) from the wall.. already consider 60in diag too small.. need around 80-90inches size then only ok.. but of coz if you using X10 instead of S10 then sit further back is more recommended..

QUOTE(Reix @ Aug 26 2009, 10:25 AM) Last night went to USJ Taipan SenQ, they put 42" X and S side by side and demo from the same source. To my surprise, The X has much better PQ compare to S. The X color is more vivid, contrast is ok, image is sharp, black is black. But the S color looks dull, image looks blur, black becomes gray. All setting are default. You know what they do? I think they are desparated to push X , maybe more commission? People don't know much about specs, might fall for their trick. I also noticed that the X somehow looks better.. this was not at SenQ but somewhere else.. didn't check properly to see if they purposely set it that way though..

QUOTE(Spawnster @ Aug 27 2009, 10:09 PM) wah lau sure or not 10ft away too small for 42"...then 50" better? depends on yr video source la... if Full HD, then 42" is just right for 5-6 ft. SD add another 1-2 ft oso can. if astro, sit as far as possible to get the optimum picture quality if you are not demanding 42" for around 10 ft shud still make the cut la, dun worry. BTW, what's yr current TV size?

42" at distance of 5-6ft is very comfortable with me. I watch movies about 7-8ft away.

QUOTE(Spawnster @ Aug 27 2009, 09:38 PM) anyone knows the best viewing distance for 42"...i'll be sitting about 10ft away. is it too big? What Panasonic recommanded is, for Full HD Plasma, the best view distance is 2x the height of your Plasma. Don't sit too close when watching Full HD movie cause you will notice small dot dot that form the movie. So, the sit 2x the height of your Plasma should be okay. If you sit 10 feet away, that mean your Plasma what have at least 5 feet high. So, convert to inch is that mean 50 inch Plasma???

Anyway, u guys dun sweat with all these technical guidelines la, its not like eating medicine have to follow everything to the dot. Bear in mind most guidelines are from overseas and they use FullHD as reference. For us here, its still 80% Astro so for the normal living hall (with is around 10'), 42" is adequate. But i do stress 'normal' living halls, so if you are people like Elite Chew, HT Leg, et al, dun come and pijaking me.
