That is a Digital Audio Output.

Audio system that support optical input, such as surround sound receiver, can use this as an input.

If you watch sports or music video or concert from astro or even normal tv channel....the sound from amp is better than listening to ur tv puny speaker. So hard to grasp the idea meh?

I don't have the TV.. But I believe the optical out can extract the sound from HDMI connection to your amp..

Either you watch tv or BD just set the amp to same input..

A possibility is to allow any sound source connected to the tv and then be optically connected to the amp.

Hmm... was wondering if the TV Upscale the sound to optical quality b4 sending to amp thru optical cable!!?

Not all people have AV receiver that supports HDMI input.  In fact AV that supports HDMI are only common in the last 2 years. So the optical input is pretty useful here.

Very much less, but the reflection is still there. But not that noticable. When I have my X10 previously. the glaring is almost unacceptable during daytime, I have to use blackout curtain for my 3 panel sliding door to totally prevent daytime light from coming in.

Besides thinner and more expensive. I think that's it.

I just have one issue.
My young daughter smeared the screen. Glass cleaner is a big NO-NO, rite? Is the anti-glare coating located inside or outside the glass panel? Which type of cloth suiteable for the job? Please recommend...

Tried and the dry cloth just made the oily print even worse. Only able to get rid them after using diluted glass cleaner.
Finger crossed I didn't ruin the surface coating.

ok. i receive my purchase on sunday 4.7.09. the panel is still few days old. im letting it go because i cant stand to surf internet using a flicker display.  for watching hd movie, its extremely great. (dont take my word for it, watch the revieew in the internet). i bought it 3800. im selling it 3400 because the lowest price i can see is 3500. i already lost rm 400. payment is cash only. full panasonic warranty and support(i havent regster for warranty yet so you can). its only few days old. cash only. you have to come to my house to pick the panel. you can also test in my house. i live in bangi lama. anyone interested, can pm me.

What makes u so sure in another 6 months will have another promo? Maybe this is the last launching promo and that's it. From now on all have to get at high price. 

But 50 inch is too big for my living room!

Viewing distance approx 10 ft

I'm using peasant 50" 720p display with distance of 10ft. Just nice for me, no need to upgrade to 1080p cos it will not make a difference.

And when i went thru all the posts in this forum most of them suggested that it's better to with panasonic viera thpc42s10k since the price is not much different.
