Not that much diff then.i was planning to put a buffer of about 20 mb or so to be safe.

Hv u looked properly at the DATE i mentioned?
24-27th Sept 2010 (4 days) - Maxis charged me 363mb
24th Sept to 2nd Oct 2010 (8-9 days) - My phone shows only 352mb used!
U think 20mb is safe?

Have you turned off your Cellular Data(option is only available in iOS4)?..If you haven't turn it off,then you will need to turn it off to avoid you getting connected to the internet..To do so,follow these steps :-

* Tap the Settings icon
* Tap General
* Tap Network
* Slide Cellular Data to "off".

Hope this helps..

Thanks smile.gif

Better safe then sorry.

Just turn both back on when you need to use it.

@kayent: the only warning you'll get is that maxis will send you an sms saying "your unbilled charges exceed 80% of your credit limit" and you'll be like wtfx00000000000r???!? but it's too late already biggrin.gif

Added on October 8, 2010, 10:48 pmAnyway, I've been travelling around a bit lately and it's amazing how (relatively) overpriced maxis is. They charge 10kb = RM0.05, right?

I'm in Mauritius at the moment and on Emtel prepaid. Charges are 100kb = RM0.07 (roughly). Some more SMS to non-emtel networks is Rm0.06 regardless of country.

Tomorrow flying to Kenya, gonna see how expensive/cheap the prepaid simcards are there biggrin.gif

Even if u turn off 3G, EGDE, wifi u will still see data usage in ur bill
I was wondering whether SMS is also considered as data? hmm

Just turn off any thing with "data" word on it smile.gif

Make sure & check your edge "on" or "off" regularly. I dont surf with 3G or edge just total wifi.... My IP 3gs will turn edge on regularly even at home with wifi router is not more then 1 feet from it rclxub.gif

So my solution is using my old nokia with postpaid & Ip is on celcom prepaid... no more postpaid for IP. Its a hassle to topup regularly but safe money for me biggrin.gif .

guys may I know how much it ur credit limit? is it rm100 by default?
For my understanding dat when I check *100# if it showed unbilled amt rm50 means it doesn't include da data rite? so credit limit include of data charges? or it juZ purely based on calls,SMS n mms?

cellular data/3g/data roaming is using ur mobile data while the wifi is using ur home/starbuck isp to connect to internet.
so generally means if u on ur cellular data/data roaming/3g on means u will use ur mobile data to connect to internet whenever ur ip thinks it needed to connect to internet such as push notification/mms/email.

actually u can just off ur cellular data only. because i search internet the cellular data is switch on/off to ur mobile internet while data roaming is when you are connected to a network other than the one your SIM is for, often in another country.
