They cant unbar my line until i pay "some" cash

when i told them my usage never exceeded RM 120 monthly why do i need to pay extra for something that has been included in my Previous plan all i got was "Wait till the next billing cycle and they'll prorate whatever i used from my previous Plan and my New Plan and they'll make necessary adjustments" but till then id have to pay the amount to ensure my line isnt barred.

Screw that.

i facing the same problem today after extended my iValue1 plan today to buy iPhone 4. Talked to CS and asked her to speed up the billing to next week instead of 14th to check, she promised wont cut my line in 24 hours....sucks man rclxub.gif

Ya.. Me also.. Just pay rm300 last week.. Suddenly today got barred.. Call CS.. Then they unbar me until this monday n release the bil in 24 hours to check what happen..

I facing the same problem,too.Just got my iPhone 4 yesterday to replace my 3GS.But then my line got barred and CS told me that I exceed my credit limit.My unbilled amount up to RM280!I never exceed my phone bill over 150 and always clear my bill every month.Suddenly they said I exceed my credit limit.


Added on September 25, 2010, 10:21 amJust receive a message from Maxis."Sorry charging failed,we cannot subscribe package to you."Anyone receive the same message?

My line wasn't available this morning, but a quick reset fixed it. I guess they were upgrading my line.

But a funny thing happened yesterday: I had registered for the 12-month iValue 2 plan in April -- but when I got to the counter and asked the guy to extend my contract, he said that my plan didn't even exist. With that said, he gave me a brand new 12-month contract with the iPhone 4.

Anyone know what's going on?

Now I have another problem again,the sub line I applied yesterday,just less than one day,it sms to my brother said the it reach credit limit ,ask my brother to pay Rm110 !My brother just use for FB status update ,not even make call.Anyone facing the same problem here?

I also got msg saying my bill amount is RM250 for 1 day old Iphone.. I'm on iValue1 and this is new line.

I think Maxis mess up billing system by not including 1Gb free data in new Iphone4 plan. That's the only way my bill can be up to RM 250. My call is about 13minutes. My celular data is 80MB (upload + download). This is just 1 day only and I mostly on wifi except when I go to dinner last nite.

I will be written to SKMS for unfair plan provided by Maxis. What I mean by unfair is, there give you 1Gb of data but don't allow you to know how much you using now. Will suggesting for then to either

1 - After 1Gb, direct disable data access (as per prepaid broadband) and give a user option to topup for usage. Use SMS to buy another 1Gb or whatever.

2 - Provide up to date (or at least 1 day before), accumulated data usage either by calling their CS or through maxis website.

I don't mind how they do their plan but their needs to provide fair info for a consumer.

i have this problem too. Maxis CS barred my call and told me my latest bill was RM270+ !

I was so shock when heard this news. until i c all of u having the same problem, then only feel better..

i changed to iphone4 and ivalue1 plan.

the problem with the line cut and overcharging is caused by MAXIS billing system unable to COMBINE the old iValue plan with the new iValue plan. Example: If your monthly bill is on the 14th with iValue1 500MB, prorated will be 16.6MB a day. So up to the day before you upgrade your plan to the new iValue1 1GB, say 24th, you have total around 166MB to use. If you exceeded that, say 200MB, the extra 34MB will be 34,000KB x RM0.05=RM1700. Since MAXIS cap at RM250, the billing system will send an sms saying you exceeded the limit and cut your line in 24hour. So the fair billing system should be (the old plan prorated up to the date of upgrade + prorated new plan up to the next bill). Eg. 166MB (old plan) + 33MB (new plan)x20days = 832MB. So they should only bill you next month with new limit of 832MB combined!

hope this clear for all of you who need to speak to the blur-blur MAXIS CS, it sucks when customers have to educate and explain the actual situation to the telco!!!! in fact if we are don't bising, they will just pretend nothing, and charge you that amount as many has voiced here and at the MAXIS facebook page...PLEASE SHOUT THE CLEAR PROBLEM HERE AT THEIR FACEBOOK WALL SO THEY WILL HERE THE PROBLEM FROM EVERYONE, SPAM THEIR WALL/DISCUSSION PAGE IF YOU HAVE TO!!!

sigh. i usually receive an sms from maxis when my data usage is about to reach 500MB (I am on the 500MB plan), so this has successfully prompt me to stop using my data until the next billing period.

however, this month, by the time the sms reached me, it said I have exceeded 501MB. and when I checked my bill, it is a whopping total of RM400++!! (My normal bill is less than RM150 permth). In this case, they have failed to promptly or reliably missed to sms me on the 'warning' before the data usage actually exceed limit.

this is the 2nd time it happened. I felt cheated in a way, but no complain can waive or reduce the amount i've to pay.

i hope maxis will come up with cheaper plans and a more reliable sms notification service of all of its data usage customers.

yea that calculation sounds rite. im waiting for the billing cycle to complete and see how did they charge. already voiced my complain to the CS and they acknowledge that there has been something wrong in the system which calculates the data usage and stuff so didnt bar my line and put in a special case where i can continue to use my phone. and i didnt pay anything either

Those who have the same prob should do it. They'll oblige if you ask them to unbar your line. No payment or anything need

I have the same problem too: very high unbilled amount and line barred due to exceeding credit limit. Sounds like a billing issue to me. When the cycle completes, they will apply the appropriate iValue plan calculations. So unbilled amount is not accurate since they are based on raw charges.

I managed to talk to the Maxis Center at Gardens and they acknowledge the problem with iPhone 4 plans. I filed for a case number (dispute/complaint) and they are upgrading my credit limit to RM500 pending approval. I think its no use cause with the rate of unbilled amount climbing, very soon it will be barred again. So they decided to also uplift my account from being barred for 5 days, in hopes that the current billing issue will be resolved by then.

Nothing much to worry if we all have the appropriate documents and receipts. It will present a clear case to Maxis that we couldn't have incurred so much charges in a few days especially when we are on a plan.

Ooh my background is different: I MNP-ed to Maxis with Value 30 and within the day I signed up to Maxis iValue 1.

Maybe u can try this setting guys:-
setting>general>network>enable 3g
enable first, if u want to surf then u on back,i think everybody know this setting,i'm just to reminder only.

you still can surf when you disable 3G since it'll be on EDGE to truly ensure no data leaks just make sure you turn on CELLULAR DATA which is the option right below the 3G option

To be fair, MAXIS data counter will always be more accurate than the iPhone data counter because they are the source. The problem is more of their CS conveying this fact to the customer, instead of sounded like blaming Apple, the customer and everyone, they should tactfully educate and explain the actual situation clearly and offer good usage advice....gosh, this is Customer Service 101... doh.gif

For me, I usually allow for 50MB discrepancy, so when my data reach 450MB shown on the iPhone, I will be abit careful with my usage or turn off data for those who really dont want to have a shock (iOS 4 and above). With the recent MAXIS addition of SMS 500MB reminder, we know we are almost reaching the limit. So I have never face any problem with my data bill and with the upgrade to 1GB when i purchased the iPhone 4, it will be less stressful tracking all this nonsense... rclxub.gif

Problem only happens when we CHANGE or UPGRADE our plan as mentioned in my previous reply.

So, its all because of either MAXIS billing database system pretty obsolete or complicated to be updated or they just don't bother rectifying until we scream and shout everywhere...DIGI knows very well of this and use it to their advantage in promoting their No Bill Shock feature, throttling speed after reaching limit, which makes helluva more sense for customers! doh.gif

Oh boy, actually that is NOT TRUE!

Whether 3G or EDGE you still use data, hence possible leak...the correct switch to avoid data usage is SETTINGS>NETWORK>TURN OFF CELLULAR DATA

I just got my IvaluePlan 1 2 weeks ago then Iphone4 was released. So i was few days from my cycle bill when i got my plan, and they say will be prorated. When bill came, saw some weird numbers but lucky RM 10 only.

I was wondering, when they say we can upgrade our contract, does it mean that since i am already on the iPhone3gs Ivalueplan 1 (500mb) can i ONLY UPGRADE my value plan without purchasing the Iphone4?

Not sure but MAXIS maybe will upgrade your old iValue1 to 1GB after iPhone 4 promotion few months later. They probably won't do it now since they want ppl to buy/upgrade to iPhone4!
