u can use back the old HDD, but the new PS3 will ask u to reformat it first

save files wise, i think u can take out the HDD, then connect it to ur PC via SATA or SATA->USB adapter, then retrieve the save files from your PC,

but dunno whether those save files still can be tied to ur PSN account or not, need someone to clafify

Dont think so. Game save file is not transferable. When you put your old HDD inside new Slim, it will reformat the HDD..

Is there any way to retreive it since I already 'derma' my PS3 to my friend but the gamesaves and PSN acc still intact with that PS3.I need to transfer it to my new PS3 but dun know how.

gamesaves cannot be retrieved, but DLCs or PSN games can redownload back on your new PS3

if still can access on9, ask your friend to deactivated all your previous accounts in your old PS3

that is as long you still can remember your email address/password then

oh now I know that the content inside the HDD is encrypted and can only be decrypted using the same PS3 which was used to encrypt it

today imma gonna share about fans and its relation to YLOD. On how fan influences YLOD. (please bear in mind that fan is not always the cause of YLOD)

The hardware that detects temp is called a "Thermistor".
As for temperature Data detection, it does at intervals of ## seconds, and decide by # times accordingly.

Study this graph, see if you can understand it. It's simple! (Please strictly note that values is not actual or fixed, it can always be changed by software means, and not to be used as a reference!)


Some of the conditions that can lead into yellow light.

1. Thermal Shutdown
When detect Temp data that becomes thermal shutdown.
Shutdown while display yellow light.
Go to "Standby" (red light)
Doesn't change user setting data.

2. Check condition of fan
Only when rotating it checks for fan. If "fan error".
Shutdown while display yellow light.
Go to "Standby" (red light)
Doesn't change user setting data.

3. SYSTEM ERROR
fixed at high/max (depend on fw version) speed.

How fw effects fan speed.
1) Different model have different fan with minor voltage-speed-ratio difference.
2) FW is common!
3) Hence some fan may have higher rpm and some lower while voltage (4 steps, low mid high full) is same.

Now my ps3 can only read a few games, some games cannot read, mine is the 60gb version, is the lens faulty?? What should I do??
