to me its the early symptom..do take caution, prolly it will occur more often after these...CECHE 80G set was using 90nm GPU chip set with the highest YLoD probablity

seriously i don't want to scare people out from their pocket but the truth is there.

my post might be unreliable, but time will prevailed...

My ps3 got blinking red right now and can't turn back on..

already own more than 2 years... and i seldom  play ..

nah at the moment... i think i better buy new unit. repair cost will just about the same...not to mention the un predictability that when YLOD  will strike

I see that as unlucky becos it started when i want to play that very demo.

My brother's ps3 YLOD about 2 weeks ago and he also had it vertical for a while.

I upgraded his HDD to a Maxtor 160gb in march, but I made sure that it was a 5400RPM HDD because i heard rumors that 7200RPM runs hotter so it could be problematic.
So now I'm curious, anybody  with YLOD had actually upgraded their HDD prior to that? What brand is the HDD because maybe these HDD just runs hotter even at 5400RPM and contributes towards the YLOD?

Anyways, anybody know where I can get his out of warranty Ps3 repaired and how much? KL/Melawati area preferred.
