Nikon SB600 is around rm 790-800 whereas Canon's equivalent is 430EXII which is RM1000+ even the top of the line nikon SB900 is rm16xx and top of the line canon 580EXII is rm17xx i just like the "white look" of most of canon higher end lenses.. most high end nikon's are black which is just normal.. most canon normal lenses starts at 24/28mm which is not wide enough.. take note that canon has 1.6x magnification which is a bit higher than 1.5 on nikons...which means it's not good for u la.. nikon general lenses starts at 18mm which is very very nice la..wide enough for most people.. 24/28mm is not wide enough on a dx format dslr like d5000, d90, 500D, 40D etc.. specs wise maybe 500D body is better but u also need to take into account the price/performance of accessories, flash & lenses for that certain brand too. QUOTE(General_Nic @ Aug 15 2009, 12:55 PM) seriously im surprise here I think now dat it's in the market, more and more ppl start buying and joining the forum... 3 months ago nobody seems to be interested with D5000 n many criticize it, saying its not worth now sudddenly within few weeks increase so many users? jz curious... Like me I used to go to the D5000 thread before they combined it with this one... Btw, I can't attend KLPF today... woke up darn late cos of MTV World Stage last nite... and later got plans... Take lotsa pics guys |

To sum it up...when you buy an SLR camera... you are buying into the SYSTEM not just the body. So...we must also take into account the cost of the lenses, flashes and accessories.
How was the KLPF ? QUOTE(alpha_company @ Aug 16 2009, 07:38 AM) check some 500D VS D5000 on the net.. another thing that u should take note is the price of nikon & canon flashes.. alpha_company: wow, i'm still very new to dslr. dont know much about accossories and lenses yet. all i know is that nikon is more comfortable in my hands compare to canon. the grib and weight is just superb.

another more important thing is of coz that..
before i had a d90..i got a d60 around april or so, and i was trying out canon 1000D, A200 and D60. the d60 has a better built quality and it feels better and much sturdier in my hands the canon has a smooth cheap feeling the sony is the heaviest of the three but still the i dont like the feeling of holding it.. try and hold a D3000 (it's available i think) it has a bigger screen but cant be flipped just my opinion..u have to try it out yourself. |

Yeah nice indeed... dunno whether it's just me, but I think it'd be nicer if the colors were warmer. (dun look at me, I'm bad with lighting myself) But neat work nevertheless!

Anyone using custom made/ self made flash bouncer/diffuser?
I attached a calculator cover on my flash using rubber band (the cover of those scientific calculator) and stick white A4 paper inside the cover. However , the light is not bounced nicely, i think it's because A4 paper is not reflective enough to bounce most of the light. Any alternative to it? I don't want to buy DFD pro or diffuser, I am finding some alternative ways... |

I don't want to buy DFD pro or diffuser, I am finding some alternative ways... i tried many kinds of alternatives.. for macro /close up diffuser it's okay to make one, but if you want a general use diffuser a diy just wouldnt cut it because it's slow to attach, big, cumbersome..no good for weddings because u need to move around fast and easy i'll post what i did later..use something like a foam material..not polystyrene. okay but not durable and not fast enough to adjust / attach & detach This post has been edited by alpha_company: Aug 17 2009, 11:40 AM |
