Hey guys (And girls XD),

Just came back from FFF. Didn't regret going today as had fun with you guys biggrin.gif I will definitely be going next Sunday... as I have to. Sabrina has tasked me with:

1. Checking expiry dates of the food in the storage, and arranging them accordingly (e.g. Those that expire the first on top, etc.)
2. Doing a stock check and making an inventory list of what's in the storage.

That means that I have to move and rearrange everything in the storage... despite having done so earlier T_T

So... I guess I'll have to flex my Head of Logistics position muscles... I will need at least 1 (Maximum 2) volunteers to help me with the moving of the stuff in the storage next Sunday sad.gif I can move and carry the 10kg packets of rice and other stuff easily by myself... but the 22kg dog food is probably going to kill me. I will be there quite early, before 11am.

if i am there next week i surely will help u...XD

During this 3rd team outing, also the 2nd time at Furry Friends Farm, we helped the expansion of the sanctuary. A cabin was setup already, so we were tasked with moving the food stockpile into it, so the rats can't get to it.

Afterward, it's the routine volunteer chores - bathing the dogs, feeding the dogs, and playing with the dogs.

Nice update Joyce smile.gif Now someone is going to pwn himself again XD

Ming you better be there next week to help me la tongue.gif Squish you with dog food and rice hahaha.

BTW, I have inquired for stainless steel choke chains at Petsmore earlier. I will be getting a rough estimate of the price by tomorrow. Will keep you guys updated. Any estimated budget for the chains? I chose stainless steel choke chains because 1. they're stainless steel, and are therefore better and more hardier and 2. according to the more senior volunteers, some of the dogs bite off their cloth/normal collars, so choke chains would be the best option IMO, but then it's also subject to everyone's agreement.

has Kuning been found?
Read about his dissapearance few days ago. =(

Just so you know... Kuning has been found. He is with someone safe now and will be taken to a vet to certify his fitness and medical condition before being released back to his owner. His owner was already informed about this. I am sure everyone is happy now, except for the ORG... tongue.gif

Kuning is a "he", and so is the owner. Kuning's owner is an Indonesian, working at the kelong where the rescue team is based on. In fact, Kuning himself was a rescued dog from the Pulau Ketam incident...

Quoted from TV Smith @ http://www.mycen.com.my/rescue/updates02.html (Titled AMAZING GRACE - Dated 08/05/09)

"Kuning swam into a floating fish farm a few weeks ago. The kindly Indonesian workers adopted him and another abandoned black dog imaginatively named Hitam smile.gif A diet of mainly seafood gave their coat a healthy shine. They have since grown quite attached to their saviors."

The older volunteers and Sabrina said that if possible, choke chains be used for the dog's collars, because some of them tend to bite the thick ropes and will spoil them. That's why I asked for the prices of choke chains instead tongue.gif My old dogs used to use them too. Thick ropes also have a possibility of becoming smelly and worn out from old age too.

Lets see what's the price you can get for the choke chains. If price is not too much of a difference, it's better to buy those than the fabric chains.

As for this Sunday's trip, I'll see if I can pop by for a visit or not. There's a lot of removing/redecorating that I have to do in my house and might not be able to make it. Shall update you guys by Friday. wub.gif Good to see Serene wagging her tail again.

Wonder how's A-D-Photographer and dadarouch's trip today

Or you may meet us at Kelana Jaya LRT on sunday and Adrian and gangs will convoy to FFF. Follow them tight as they drift very fast!

Those of you guys who wish to drop by to FFF, please do contact Sabrina either via email or phone call to let her know that you're going. (preferably informing her how many ppl are going and etc)

Adrian, please add this to the first post :

Whoever wishes to visit FFF, either for a visit or volunteering, please contact Sabrina first before going over.

Panasonic aka electrical goods girl, Adrian's a fast driver. I was trying to catch up to him last Sunday on the way back to KJ. Btw Dadarouch, remind me to pass back your Touch n Go card. Thanks for lending me. tongue.gif Your card not working on the way back, lucky Kaven have an extra card.

For GPS users, please take 1 extra note. Depending on device model and routing settings, your device might lead you to the wrong place. So to be safe and to make sure you are able to reach FFF safely, please do the followings...

1) Add the FFF co-ordinates to your device.
2) Upon Satellite lock, search for Jalan Tambahan 18. It should be somewhere FFF's location. Instead of pointing your destination to FFF, point it to Jalan Tambahan 18.
3) Allow your device to guide you to the preset destination.
4) Upon reaching your destination, you may need to follow some unpaved roads to reach FFF. In order to do so, just look at your device and drive towards FFF's direction.

Good luck... smile.gif
