bro, if u dump coreavc and use dvxa entirely, i can guarantee you seeing immediate drop in CPU usage. Unless you are using CoreAVC 1.9.5.0, that has the ability utilise CUDA on your 8800GT card (processing assisted by GPU from coreavc). Oh, make sure you have installed the latest driver with updated CUDA.
*
alright, i'm getting the 1.9.5.0 version now..
btw, the nvidia drivers with updated cuda are inside the usual driver file that we download from the website? or is there a separate pack?

Added on July 2, 2009, 3:22 pmi think i'm gonna dump vlc soon also...haha..now most of videos using mpc already

@jcsy,
under add filter, there's two radio button: prefer and set merit. Select prefer, so that it will be the preferred codec for decoding h264

edmin,

i set prefer and now 720p movies run much smoother, with about 50-60% cpu load

i can fast forward and stuff without audio lagging behind

anyways, thats for 720p.. for 1080, cpu is at 100% and it starts to lag

so i guess my hardware has run out of juice for 1080? biggrin.gif

thanks man, finally understood whats wrong =.=

7am on lowyat forum? wow thats early!

1080p? can be improved. doubleclick on coreavc in external filters windows.

coreavc option will pop out in a new window. select skip deblocking always. that's gonna help you a lot in 720 and 1080. cheers.
