@e_k1117 ,flash back to the previous version...I have never tried before.....I remembered fylon said can't work.
*
That is what i read from article, but never try it before. Pro's said that the flashing tools has some CRC checksum, it only allow upgrade but not downgrade. Well, i think it only applied to older version of mobo. Current mobo on the market is allow to flash up and down for the bios without worries. laugh.gif

P/s: Btw, this thread getting hox! 1 day page! drool.gif

@e_k1117

Any report from u by reverting back all ur rigs setting to default?

AGP performance drop is due to the HIS chip that convert the PCIe slot to AGP slot. Not much performance drop, but kee an eyes for the temp. It rise fast. brows.gif

@e_k1117
Are u using stock HSF? Ya temp seems to be ok on stock. But full load seems scary.. sweat.gif At least mine were 40'c on idle and 55'c on load with 3rd party cooling. tongue.gif Just sold it weeks ago, now rocking with Xigmatek Red Scorpion.

P/s: Oh yea... Edmin has invested on something BIG. brows.gif

@e_k1117

@_@.. In which part LG775 cannot compare with S478? Hahah.. What if im using LG775 P4 pair with DDR ram and AGP Slot mobo? laugh.gif

Anyways, RS is one of the low price cooler but the performance is on par with TR TRUE. brows.gif

@Edmin
Eh where is SLR shot for ur new rigs????

@e_k1117
Can la kawan.. TDP is the main thing when comes to temp and heatsink. sweat.gif My Q6 TDP 95W and ur P4 3.0Ghz TDP is 89W (get to intel processor finder website to find the facts, too lazy to link it here tongue.gif). In overall, P4 is dissipate less heat then Q6. But the reading will be vary depend on the processor surface and cooler. Bear in mind, most processor surface is not even one, there will sure have concave. The best way to make it even is to lap it. lust.gif

@dlwl

O/T: Yea. X3 is phased out long time ago. Hardly to be found in market. Honestly, i will suggest u go for Q6 as cache play a big roles. brows.gif Cache is always not enough, so better to pick up the high cache proc as FSB / clock can be rise after that. But cache cant. icon_rolleyes.gif

yup , HT does make a difference in real life performance and situations

without HT, opening each programs causes 100% cpu usage, which spikes and slows down every other thing, even the mouse movement

however recent indicators mention that dual cores and quad cores dont really have HT on because of confclits and slowdowns

not the case for my s478 biggrin.gif
*
Just some correction here. FYI all batch of C2D / C2Q before I7 are all none HT. They are running on 1 core 1 thread.

Haha.. I think edmin lazy is because he dont want to contribute much to Sesco (East Msia electric power supply company, like TNB in West Msia). laugh.gif

Anyways guys, some feedback for Windows 7. Currently were using the RC released version, so far so good. Fast & more responsive compare with vista. Tonight will try file transfer. brows.gif

Normal use should be alright. But if go for OC, then better dont. 2600xt should be enough for ur requirement actually, Dota aint a resource hogging game.

3.0G ain't a problem for Dota actually, main concern is the graphic card. 64bit memory interface is not sufficient for 24inch LCD. Somemore on 1680x1050 reso.

Am using windows 7 RC right now. laugh.gif Overall i can say is, the performance is not far away from Windows XP. Using C2D T5300 (1.73Ghz, 2MB cache) pair with 2GB ram, over system were smooth like butter. drool.gif Guess it wont be a problem for P4.

Just pity that, most of my networking software (eg. network stumbler) aint still not support it. Will revert back to XP soon.

@ray
Yea. But the RC released is seems to be quite good already. If compare with Vista test previously, my 945G will struggle if Aero enable on Vista. The GUI will be sluggish, but in W7 this doesnt occurred at all.

@dlwl
laugh.gif No i dont.. Lazy to install on VM, so just directly dump in for testing. But anyways, is a good one. Looking forward for this windows. As im having some AHCI issues with x64 Vista. Still in investigating for this problem.

Lol.. As Jcsy says, I bet Windows 7 will run even better with ya rigs. As the kernel are tweaked and run better then vista. There were a video shown one guy running Windows 7 on a Pentium 2 computer. lust.gif
