Also mattj i hope yours is an official unlock set as blackra1n will only jb your phone and not unlock it.If u need to unlock the phone then use custom ipsw by using pwnagetool 3.1.4 but can only do it on a mac. Good luck

it didnt work because the initial IPSW i downloaded was not complete, 225mb instead of 300mb

Hi, I had a friend who had the same problem as spoonkin, I believe the correct size of a firmware should be around 300mb ++

yes the actual size is 300mb

and i strongly suggest everyone use pwnage tool if possible as blackra1n has alot of missing steps not included in the main site

either way works, but i beleive a team of good hackers rather than a guy came out claim so much, pwnagetools is a more reputable tools anyway

Make sure you download the correct firmware for your iPhone 3G or 3G[S].

for 3gs...it should be around 300mb ++....

owh..mine is 3g...i am using blackra1n but it is not working..y huh??? is state there runing...but nothing happens...because yesterday i erase all content and setting..

Hmmmm, shouldn't matter what version of firmware you are using blackra1ned or not i jb'ed at 3.1 and 3.1.2 and I was able to sync my apps just fine. What apps do you have problem syncing? Is it one or two apps or all the apps? Did you check your the Itunes page where you bought the apps from if it is compatible with version 3.1.2?

Also, did the apps work before you JB?

well the appz that i tried work fine with my gf's 3gs 3.0...
my another fren told me 3.1 with blackrain is not able to sync any appz...
i thought of updating to 3.1.2,but i heard the feedback ain't that good...
please advise??

Well for me, since i am on Maxis set.. i did a full restore to 3.1.2, deleting everything.. (i like a clean slate) and then JB'd and i synced back all my apps and it works.. so I'm not sure what is causing your problem.

Are the apps tied to your ITunes account or your gf's? Maybe you need to use that user etc.

may i know which tools r u using for the 3.1.2?
