One word of advise to you guys

NEVER EVER do the ERASE ALL in the settings in the iphone, better just restore the phone

i did some googling, they say might take couple of hours

but i started mine last nite from 11pm - 9am, its still not completed, imagine the screen is switch on for 10 years non stop

not sure if its posted here, i follow the iclarified on jb using pwnage 3.1.4 on my 3GS iphone

so when i reach the screen it ask me to plug in the phone to go into DFU mode, it somehow didnt detect my phone, but my itunes 9.0.1 does

so now i have my custom ipsw and i try using itunes(DFU mode) to restore using my custom ipsw also failed, says illegal ipsw

any idea guys?

if software all original, it will be restored, provided u did sync with ur pc/mac

if software from cydia/hacked, software will be gone unless u did something, not to be discussed

now i hope ppl help me with my problems

built using my pwnage tool 3.1.4

i put 695MB following the steps in iclarified
i only install cydia using the pwnage tools

did u guys install cydia? or u jb without installing cydia?

so far, all my games save game remain, but who knows, there is instance it was never backup

currently my phone is 3.0.1 iphone 3gs maxis set with jb using redsnow

so now i will proceed to make 1gb of root partition and install only cydia,

wish me luck !

i am wondering how long does blackra1n jb process takes

mine still in the picture mode - waited 15min

and mine originally 3.0.1, so should i update using restore to 3.1.2 first then oni use blackrain?

help pls

it says firmware file not compatible
darn weird. guess i will redownload the ipsw and retry tomorrow

actually, when i was using the pwnagetools, after the completion of the building of customised ipsw, it says plug in the iphone.
when i plug it in, nothing happen, the screen just stuck there, then my itunes go do it's sync n stuff but the pwnagetools just stuck there



i dont get it why not working for me

and i suppose i need to update my phone into 3.1.2 using itunes to use the blackra1n

actually i did, but when it comes to the point i click alt restore, it says my ipsw is invalid. Thats all.....

i followed, but its stuck at the plug in the phone part, so the payload wasnt uploaded i suppose

now downloading fresh ipsw, trying it tomorrow as my mac is in the office

FINALLY IT WORKS, thanks for all the help

it didnt work because the initial IPSW i downloaded was not complete, 225mb instead of 300mb

so thanks for everyone !

yes the actual size is 300mb

and i strongly suggest everyone use pwnage tool if possible as blackra1n has alot of missing steps not included in the main site

either way works, but i beleive a team of good hackers rather than a guy came out claim so much, pwnagetools is a more reputable tools anyway

i think ur apps is not originally bought in appstore, if origally bought in appstore shouldnt have this problem

maxis iphone running 3.1.2 using pwnage tools to jb, all okay..

havent met a program not stable yet, if there is, then u wait that software launch update for 3.1
