Been a while. Anyway need to know, mine is a NZ set still with 2.1, modem firmware 02.28.00 and using Itunes 8.1, can I update to firmware OS 3.0 and use redsnow. Thanks for helping

Why I get error 1304 when restoring? Why I cant update my itunes to 8.2 even tho I'm on XP service pack 2, anyone?

I got error of iphone cannot be restore coz firmware file is not compatible when I do shift restore for upgrade to OS3. Why is this so, I follow Iclarified method.

I'm also facing the same situation, why no cydia after unlocked and jailbroken? I am pretty sure cydia is checked during process.

I still do not get the cydia and contacts even tho' did it twice already. Wonder what's the issue. Do I need to do anything extra. I just follow IClarified.

Is there any other way to get Cydia on board my iphone with 3.0 OS?
If not guess I have to redo again till I get it right.

Update my iphone 3G 8gb from 2.2 to 3.0. Update done, but I got stuck at the itunes DFU screen, tried a few times to reboot but still stuck there. How do I get out of this predicament. All I wanna do is update or restore my iphone to 3.0 jailbreak, clear data and sell it off. Pls help as buyer wanna collect this evening. Thanks

However when I tried with my 16gb 3g, did not get any error message when connecting to itunes for sync (already 3.0)

HAd my fair share of issues doing JB using redsnow so I decided to use Purplera1n and its much simpler than redsnow. Go Purplera1n.

Bro, I faced the same issue of stopped at 2nd reboot, that's why using purplera1n, no such problem and very straightforward compared to redsnow.

Bro, am I lucky. When i wanna sync I saw the 3.1 and wanted to do update to 3.1 via itunes and have 2nd thoughts to check out this thread for warnings, and rightly so, cancelled the update. Otherwise I cannot enjoy Cydia. I'll wait for dev team to come up with the goods for JB the 3.1 before updating.

Need fast answer. On the verge of updating my missus Iphone 3G New Zealand Vodafone set to 3.1.2 from 3.0. Should be OK rite as this is official unlocked set. After upgrade, then do blackra1n rite? SHould work rite. Sifus, pls confirm ASAP. Thanks
My own Maxis 3G-S already upgraded and JB. No issue.

Was not successful jailbreaking missus Iphone 3G NZ vodafone set last nite. The blackrain kept running but nothing and the iphone showed DFU mode (connect USB to Itunes). Tried a few times and then itunes was activated but not recognizing the iphone, tried changing to other USB ports and even killed the Itunes process, still same result? Any suggestions, Thanks

My missus Iphone 3G is a NZ Vodafone set and is officially unlocked.
Tried again tonite to JB using Blackra1n, so far after so many tries, UNSUCCESSFUL, anybody in the same boat with me trying to JB iphone 3G using blackrain?
If not I'm gonna leave it like that no JB what to do, exhausted already.
