how do we ensure saurik's server successfully recorded our ECID besides relying on the message shown (whenever we run cydia app)? i read elsewhere a lot ppl complained it wasn't recorded as oppose to what the message says.

Me too. Stuck wif blank screen. I just got this iphone oven-hot from maxis. I installed & ran itunes 8.2 in my WinXP. I plug it in, it detects iphone & wanted to connect to Apple server but i purposely remain offline then. I clicked cancel & proceeded to run redsnow+3.0 ipsw (speculating & hpoing that it comes as 3.0.1 instead of 3.1).

Redsnow installed & asked to disconnect USB & re-plug while pressing Home button. I followed, as usual. Then, after restart, redsnow detects & began to install again. This stage, as compared to my previous JB, was different. my iphone's screen went black (but still running, just like into DFU mode).

I waited 15 mins & it self-restarted. Next, the initial screen where apple logo+usb re-appears. No clear signs of JB.

My ques is, should I now allow itunes to check wif apple server?

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

guys, anyone facing similar prob like me? i dloaded cydia but when clicked, it shows "reorganizing, auto close when done" & re-springed but nothing happened. I tried again, same happened.

As for Icy, after saying "successfully moved to a bigger library" sort of, it shows the "Category" page, but frooze there. I was able to exit the prog though...

FYI, mine is 3gs OTB 3.1

I found a solution, just to share...I re-run blackra1n.exe, re-dload all 3 apps (cydia, icy & rock), restarted iphone. it worked! Now, into cydia. will try reinstalling earlier dloaded apps during my os3.0.1 jb. fingers crossed!

me too. always 'time out'. used wi-fi also the same, slightly better though. first thing i did was to click 'make my life easier'. after the last incident, i swear this is priority!

I guess so & hope an update to rectify will come soon. i tried to remove MobileSubstrate (which inevitably removed Backgrounder too) as claimed by some forummers, but still won't work on my 3GS.

Also, my Cydelete isn't working too...sigh...

i had lots of probs with btooth hsets operability on i3gs but not disconnection though. most of them hav a common prob, where i can't end call using btooth's button. instead, i need to do it from the iphone which defeats the purpose of using a handsfree.

but i resigned myself to trying out other brands/make bcoz machines ppl claimed it's the nature of i3g/gs.
