Need fertilizer wan arh? aiks.. i didnt know about that, the water is fine i'm using Diamond filtered water at the moment.

Btw is it advisable to crowd the tank with alot of plants and a big wood? Cause i recently added in a wood and now it look very crowded plus adding in java moss at a particular spot of the wood. Does this mean i only can put in a very minimum number of fish only?

plant as much as you can.. but of course, if no c02 and all, no point also, those hi light fast growers will melt sooner or later...

Having a lot of plants does not determine your amount of fish. it's the tank size.

calculate how many gallon of ur tank has.. for my 6 gallon tank.. just keep around 12 fishes are enough... fertiliser is a food for the plant.. just like car need petrol.. about use what fert.. better ask for chuppy.. but currently i using double black water and cheap fertiliser... rm7.50, green in colour.. they serve my nana and moss well....

initially..plant as many as possible when in starting phase...so tat ur plant able to compete with algea for the nutrient....then wait till ur main plant already full grown...then only take away the supporting plant smile.gif...cause starting phase is critical...algea easy to attach..ur plant not mature and ur water as well...smile.gifsmile.gif....

Effectively?

Spot treatment. After WC... off all filter/flows.. then use a syringe or turkey baster to take that concentrated excel.. Aim and fire biggrin.gif

If there's too much BBA around.. do it over several sessions rather than the whole thing .. it's risky due to excel overdose.

Found out that the filtration rate is slow because i tried it on a low water level. Pump have to work extra hard to pump the water. Tried it again it higher water level and it worked fine.

Changed the leaking tank today and bought some Gex substrate. RM29 for 2kg pack. Put it into the tank and now its running. No plants no fish yet. Water very murky >.<. I also notice that if i move the soil. lots of air bubles comes up. Do i need to move the soil around much and get rid of all the trapped air?

Don't stir the soil too much LOL, they are not gravel they are baked soil granules. To avoid air bubbles, fill in the water slowly and evenly.

=D i listened and went out to get some plants. altho the LFS i went to know nuts about 'hornwort' or 'anubias' so i just hentam some plants. they are out of java moss too. i bought a driftwood tho. how should i clean it? just put inside the tank, or rinse it or let it soak?

i had problem keeping them in the soil as they keep floating, so i tied them to a rock to anchor them. am i doing it right? also my temp gauge shows me 29.6C at night sad.gif. i scared in afternoon will be gila hot there.

would a diy air cooler help?

this is kinda my test run first =.= cause i scared of the below problems

- lighting enough? currently 11W, but next to window so during daytime shud have some extra power
- temperature might get high during day. now at night when its cold, its already 29.6C. scared during daytime can get until 32-33C. the puffer fish might not like it sad.gif. anyway to cool it down without spending big? i have some computer fans can i use em =.=
- soil, is it enough? currently 1 inch. do i have to top up with a layer of gravel?
- co2. shud i just go ahead with DIY CO2?

Next would be java moss + driftwood =D
