tie it down o the rocks or wood with either sewing thread, ( or fishing line which IMO is stronger)

Excused me... May i know is all the grasses suit for any type of fish?
Because my fishes are Oscars and cichlid, they are aggressive and messy fishes... What plant should i plant inside my aquarium?

yes, tie with any of those that mentioned by chuppy will do..
but bare in mind, when they grow thicker, they tend to take it loose...

Hello there people smile.gif Sorry to intrude yea i see you all discussing here damn chun =D.

I would like some beginner's advice if you all can spare some time ^^. I plan to start a 6.5 gal tank with maybe 1 dwarf puffer and a few shrimps (and maybe 2 ottos). I plan to go fake planted at first, but decide that maybe i would like to give planted a try.

What can you recommend me to go? I need something easy to maintain with little hardware (because of my low budget, i cant afford many extra accessories) and very leafy so it can keep the puffer occupied. I might put in another puffer in the near future, so if its heavily planted, they can hide from each other.

My hardware would be

- 6.5 gal tank
- china made 500l/hr filter with cheap filtration foam
- 10-15w light i think

Do i need more stuff if i want to go planted? I plan to start with Java moss maybe. But besides that im lost >.<. Hope you all can point me the right direction!

Thanks ^^

1 puffer and many shrimps is like a buffet for the puffer in a 6g. lol.

Here's my question, what kind of plants to you intend to keep.

Don't put puffer fish.. they will eat all your shrimp. I saw once in youtube, crayfish also kena makan!

If put fish with shrimp, small one like neon tetra ok lah.

I always found that, a tank with planted, the fauna always healthier! And less dirty also.

Problem is i dunno what plants are suitable for small tank and with my small budget. If possible i want to keep my spendings as long as possible. Glosso + java moss on driftwood + maybe some leafy plant (giant hydras?) can ah? maybe use DIY CO2. posible to not use CO2?

Haha based on online reading, puffer sometimes ignore shrimps, sometimes they'll gobble them up. depends la. so i thought just give them a try la since shrimps so cheap. if cannot, most prob i'll get ottos.

that's gonna be one heck of a happy puffer IMHO lol...

Plants like glosso need sufficient light and conditions ( c02 as well ) to thrive. Moss on the other hand is much more forgiving.
