dear otai2.. i got a problem... when i try to connect my phone to d itunes.....my pc hang and after it become ok.....it can't detect my phone....why lorrr......1st time conncetion, want to register

I'm experiencing the same issue as well, a pop-up that says it will delete all my iPhone apps when I tried to sync my contacts.

I recently bought a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4. Both are brand new with the exception that iPhone 4 is running 4.3.3 (JB).

Is there a solution to this?

Added on May 12, 2011, 8:00 pmI've just 'Authorized' my MBP and tried to resync with my iPhone. Still no luck.

Here's what I did.

1) After I've checked the 'Sync Address Book & Contacts' box, I noticed that the 'Sync' button at the bottom right corner has changed to 2 buttons, 'Revert' & 'Apply'.
2) When I clicked on 'Apply', the warning message pops-up.

hye.. i had recently receice the " the item you've requested not currently available in malaysian store" error.. even i don't click any.. there's any way to solve this?

Hiya.

iTunes authorization will only work for apps/books/movies and songs that you purchased and downloaded genuinely from App Store and iTunes Store. It won't work for other contents that are downloaded outside of these 2 stores. If you have authorized your desktop iTunes with all the necessary authorizations; and have transferred your purchases; all of the bought contents will be in their respective folder/tabs in iTunes.

You said you've authorized your laptop, but have you click transfer purchases? [in iTunes, FILE>>TRANSFER PURCHASES or right click on your device's tab]

After transfer purchases, you can safely sync your iPhone. The pop-up window will still give you the warning that it'll delete all the apps currently in your iphone as this is your initial sync with your MBP. Go ahead and proceed, as all the apps are already transferred to your laptop. You will however loose any saved data on your apps like saved gameplay for your game apps.

For your contacts, it won't delete your current contacts with empty data. For an initial sync, it will merge the contacts from your iPhone and your MBP. After the sync, you should be able to browse your contacts from iPhone in your desktop Address Book app in MBP. [That's why there's another choice of Replace Information in INFO>>ADVANCED if you want to delete all the current contacts]

Guys, suddenly i can no longer use my account to update app bcos it states invalid address. Tried to change it but useless as well.

Any idea why this happened?

You are right about the 'Authorization' feature that's purely intended for media contents, no thanks to DRM (Got to know this after surfing the web for answers).

Well the popup message is kinda scary as I did not encounter it in my old 2G iPhone and MBA during the initial sync.

I did transfer all my purchases without an issues but will it remove all my apps if I proceed to sync?

IT WORKED!!! Phewww... After reading some many syncing issues on iTunes online about deleting apps and stuff, this is a huge relief.

I spent half a day searching for sync alternatives e.g Fliq, Google Sync, iPhone Contacts Backup Tool, Missing Sync, Mobile Me and other cloud apps including calling Apple Support.

Best thing is you were able to explain much better than the Apple Support dude from Australia

Need help. Unable to update my purchases due to invalid address. After log in into my account, it says: You must verify your payment info before you can make purchases.

I just go the same problem as earlier mentioned in this thread.

My iPhone 4 wont transfer its purchased Apps to iTunes.

I have authorized my Computer. And have tried many times to transfer purchase (right click, click from file/transfer purchase etc)..what happen is that it shows something on top of itunes (like it is transferring), but when it is about to 'copy', it just stopped. None are transferred to iTunes.

If I am to 'check' the box in iTunes, a message popup saying it will delete all apps in iphone and replace it with what's in iTunes.

Its really scary man. I sure do not want to lose all of my 600 Apps in iPhone. Some are bought, and especially some have already have saved data inside like games etc).

So, I initially tried it for my iPod. I 'checked' the box to Sync (in Apps library). Then Sync. And guess what...all my previous stored songs in iPod just got deleted clean.

I am never going to try this with my Apps. 600 Apps there.

I hope there is somebody here who would assist me on this.

I have earlier today reported my problem in Apple site, and now waiting for their response (I dont think it will come in 1 or 2 days), if I am lucky maybe I will here from them in one week.

So, again hope to hear from the otai here.

In terms of apps, after transferring all your purchases you should be able to see them in iTunes under the Apps tab.

Run a backup before proceeding to click on 'Accept'.

In a nutshell, best not to proceed if your apps do not appear in iTunes once you have transferred your purchases.

Since it iTunes can remember which apps was purchased earlier, I don't have to worry about repurchasing them. The only problem is the hassle of downloading all over again & losing my saved games data. Other text data I can copy to somewhere else. Physical files can be copied also. So, basically games data is lost..huhu..spent plenty of times upgrading my weapon already..(my Overkill games) & my Predators game...

Look on the bright side, use this opportunity to do some heavy spring cleaning i.e 600 apps

There are new games coming out ever few minutes. There is no reason to be nostalgic.

How else would you find space for the new ones???

Thats right. I want to cleanup my Space & download more games (200MB above each) hehe.

Anyway, just to let you know that I have checked the box to sync in iTunes, and most of my Apps are gone. But half are still there. Anyway I want to cleanup everything and start from scratch. Like just bought my iPhone. Good thing that other Default Apps are not affected like calendars etc.

Tomorrow I start downloading new games Yeah!

Got a couple of issues :

1. when i back up my photos and videos to PC (using USB detection), some of my videos especially the longer ones (more than 30 secs) will not transfer and will hang.. How do i transfer these larger size videos to my PC?

2. How do i save my contacts to PC?

Thinking of upgrading IOS but afraid that all my contacts, photos, videos etc will be gone...

I use this software aiseesoft.

In my experience, backing up photos & videos is the easiest. Just copy & paste. Even if more than 1 minutes normally no issues. Hmm.....

Saving contacts..lets try to figure out how...I am also going to do that someday...

I also did not upgrade IOS coz the new update does not really mean much to me. And bear in mind that all Apps need to be backed up before any update is to take place. I am with you on this. Will not upgrade for now. Wait until it's really worthwhile to upgrade right.
