just got myself one yesterday. erm i confuse.. i read other's guide and asked me to register itune using US address.. but then should i register my iPhone using that account?

or should i just follow the rule and create Malaysia account and put my credit card number?

Maxis guy told me can put my maybank debit card number.. but i tried and iTunes said the number is wrong..

No problem in using a malaysian iTunes account. The only drawback to this is you can only access local content i.e only apps from the appstore. Even then, you won't find all apps are available in our local appstore. Some apps are country specific. So if your main use of iTunes is getting apps thats available locally then by all means register the malaysian account.

But if you want to access all content i.e all apps, songs, movies, tv series etc, then you need US iTunes account. The only drawback is that you need to top it up with iTunes Credit. You can't link the account with our local CC (but if i'm not mistaken, they also take paypal).

About the debit card, I don't think iTunes accept debit card.

U can have more than 1 iTunes account. Which one you sync to or activate does not void the warranty.

U mean your music and apps are gone from iTunes in your PC? If so then try reinstalling iTunes.

Seems like it's an iTunes problem.

Why not, but make sure it's in a format readable by iTunes.

Err ... we can sync 1 phone with 2 computers i.e. house laptop and office pc?

If i'm not mistaken, the 5 authorize computers are for synchronizing your app/songs/movies etc to other device i.e. iPhone, iPods etc. If you sync your iPhone at home and then sync again at office, won't the content from home be wiped out and replaced with the content from office computers? Considering that the content from both computers are different.

Sometimes I'm also confuse with iTunes.

In the iTunes Summary screen, select "Encrypt iPhone backup" if you want to encrypt the information stored on your computer when iTunes makes a backup. Encrypted backups are indicated by a padlock icon (as visible below in the Deleting a Backup section), and a password is required to restore the information to iPhone. You may want to write down the password for your backup and store it in a safe place. If you use a Mac, when you set a password you can select to store the password in the keychain.

Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password you can continue to do backups and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.

If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you will have to do a full software restore and when prompted by iTunes to select the backup to restore from, choose "Set up as a new device".

People here are not mind readers you know. If you want people to help you, maybe some info on what had you done that cause the problem might give people a hint on what to advice.

Previous owner's app is his/hers app. You can't maintain, backup or sync it to your account as each app downloaded are tied to the respective iTunes account. This is a method to deter piracy, unless that previous owner would gladly share his iTunes password with you (which I doubt he/she will).

Download/buy your own app with your own iTunes account.

It's because of your long telco name. Usually it will be truncated to MyMax.. unless u use make it mine or carrier bundle to change the telco display.

Do you think by saying "this place is dead" will get you the answers? You asked the question @ 12.41am and expect a fast answer from people here? You think people in here works for you, that you demand a quick answer? It's not even 24 hours yet since you asked the question. You think people don't have anything to do on a saturday then just answering your question? This is a forum, not a call center. Be nice and people will eventually help you (if they know the answers).

Since I don't have anything to do this Saturday, I'll answer you question (just because I'm feeling helpful).

Just sync your iPhone with outlook. Look in iTunes under Contacts section. What ever changes to your phone will be copied to outlook and vice versa. If I'm not mistaken, it will ask if you want to copy from iPhone to outlook, outlook to iPhone (which you don't want to do) and merge both contacts.

If that does not help you, maybe try elaborating more on your problem of "having a hard time trying to sync it back to outlook 2007". Most of the people here are not psychic.

Did you by any chance updated the carrier settings from Maxis or Digi?
