Well at least it does its job. There are no scratches on your MBP, are they?

Any hard/solid casing that are expose to the environment will be prone to scratches unless of course its pure rubber or other soft material... Speck see thru satin is just a thin layer of rubbery type surface.. Maybe you could rub the scratches off? Should be able to as it is soft...

But yea doesnt matter as your MBP isnt scratched.. Thats whats the casings are for =)

if u want to protect the speck cover, buy a cheap sleeve. DO NOT buy a nice, expensive sleeve, because then you'll want to protect the sleeve tongue.gif

By buying a sleeve you're already like adding bulletproof armour on top of bulletproof armour...

Lol.. You can get the sleeve if you are lazy to bring your backpack and other stuff.. Its very convenient actually... Of course you can bring it with only your speck casing but that would expose you to potential thieves in Malaysia especially with your macbook... But if you dont mind carrying your backpack everywhere you go then no point of getting a sleeve =)

If you can order it yourself then it should be much cheaper as no commissions goes to the seller if you buy from them but you have to do all the work of shipping/buying etc... Maybe you could consider the price and see if there is a huge difference.. If its a little then get from someone who has already experience buying would be better =)

Hey, the speck casing nice? black or transparent nice?
I heard there is minor hairline scratch if using speck case.

haha guess what? i already have a pretty awesome sleeves before i bought the speck see thru satin. but guess what? after fitting the speck onto my mbp, i cant fit it into the sleeves no more. sad.gif the satin material makes it very difficult to fit into the sleeve. hence i dont really use the sleeves anymore, have to choose between the sleeves or the speck.

but if you ask me if the mbp was dropped at the same height, the sleeves wud give more protection than the speck. the speck wud just crack and break, while the sleeve (i think any sleeves) wud absorb the impact. protecting your lil baby inside it. thumbup.gif

Yeap but it also depends on your sleeve... If the sleeve isnt padded properly, your MBP inside still going to suffer some impact enough to maybe cause a dent or affecting your HDD...

Ive seen the review of the spec see thru satin through youtube before purchasing as the person shows which sleeve that it can fit with the speck casing on and which is tight fit and which couldnt fit at all...

Hi. I was just wondering, since one of LYP's Mac retailers was offering a Mac 15'' 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 with either (a) an AVF mouse + carrying case or (b) capdase keyboard protector, which would be the better choice?

Also, how much would be a fair price for Speck See-Thru Satin case?
If I'm not mistaken, the normal Speck See-Thru is cheaper, so is the See-Thru Satin just for show, or does it have extra benefits. If there is a case with a better deal, a recommendation is also welcome, but pls be something available from LYP.

Another thing, I heard good reviews for the Logitech 470 mouse. A little off topic but, does the good feedback apply to all of Logitech mice, since I was thinking of getting a USB mouse, as I'm scared turning on my bluetooth will sap my energy.

Sorry if I'm asking repeated question etc., but pls reply ASAP as I am thinking of heading over after dinner. A thousand thanks.

for the carrying case + mouse or keyboard protector...i would go for the keyboard protector. i hv a feeling the carrying case n AVF mouse is gonna look really cheap tongue.gif juz like any other AVF stuff n free cases.

yes the satin is just for show, no extra benefits. not sure how much is it right now.

logitech is a reputable mice manufacturer. the v470 is probably the cheapest bluetooth laser mouse around, and performs well as far as BT mice goes. if u wanna get a USB mouse, can look for reputable brands like logitech, razer or steelseries. u can also get a hybrid USB+bluetooth mouse like the razer orochi brows.gif

i guess u've had ur dinner already tongue.gif

it's pretty good, juz have to take it out n clean dust off it once in a while. but MBPs with speck cant fit into some sleeves since it's quite thick.

Thanks for your reply, but no, I had not eaten my dinner at the time you posted. XD
Finally, a first MBP. I managed to strike a deal for the capdase keyboard protector and AVF mouse. Actually, I was quite surprised since the AVF mouse didn't look that bad, for its RM13 price. Still, I plan on getting a new mouse. I'm interested in a hybrid mouse, but is Razer Orochi my only selection?

Also, I was wondering about bags. Most of the bags posted in the forum are kind of pricey. After spending 6k, I'm kinda broke =_=. After attaching my speck see-thru (blue, yay!), I was wondering which would be the best? I found a few bags, but they were kinda oversized, and I was afraid of my mac banging around.

Thank you for all replies!!
