Going back to the dust issue of Invisi Shields, does anybody have any experience of similar problems with Gelaskins or similar?

1) buy speck case, the no colour one
2) buy a few bottles of different spray paint
3) have fun! ;p

That works except if you're like me and have the artistic tendencies of an elephant with chronic diarrhoea.

However, when applied with proper talent, you'll get something awesome. Like this...

Lol... I was thinking of getting the iron man decal.. Looks cool.. But it seems like its hard to apply and people advise to get a few of them in case one goes wrong... Hmm... But I also think that when I get bored of it then it would be a waste and dirty my MBP..

You don't need to get multiple skins. Gelaskins have been reviewed as easy to remove and, best of all, not leave any marks on the MBP.

Shogun Gamer review

Too bad nobody has done a review after several months of use...

Is that the visible Specks with spray graffiti

No, looks like some permanent marker, probably copic marker considering it's done by the lead of the developers of Little Big Planet.

so now im thinking whether if the laptop were to drop, or when moving around in a bag, will the satin be enough protection? hmm.gif
*
Nope.

The satin case protects the laptop from scratches and minor stains. Stains caused by excessive exposure to many forms of combustion, face-melting corrosive agents, death rays and head-on collision with somebody's face at speed are likely to overcome the case.

Lol... Thats what they said for Invisible Shield and guess what, after using for almost 2 years on my iphone, when I wanted to remove my IS, the sticky part actually sticks to my iphone screen and I had to like rub it out with my fingers... It took me like 30 minutes to really get all those residual out... So it does nto leave any marks but does leaves residual but of course Im not sure how long after you stick and it will leave residual there...
*
True. Nobody writes reviews of items X months old. But my earlier post was mainly to debunk the myth that you needed to buy multiple skins to prevent imperfect sticks.

Or you could go crazy and get a Pelican case or Storm Case. XP

Rofl I think thats overkill.. haha... But it does look damn solid... But Im sure the price will also be damn high! Maybe next time you have some 10k gadgets which you wanna bring for camping/jungle trekking then you can use it =P

Hi. I was wondering whether a skin would be sufficient in keeping a laptop from scratches, or should I just get a sleeve without a skin, or a bag without a sleeve or skin? I am quite confused, since the prices do vary between the choices.
Again, I duly apologize if this is considered one of the things I should have researched for myself, instead of troubling the forum gurus. T_T

Most skins cover only the flat area of the lid (back of the screen) and some have overlays for the trackpad and palm area. This means corners, bottom of the laptop and keyboard area will be unprotected.

A sleeve wraps around the whole Macbook and usually provides a certain level of water protection. However this protection lasts as long as the laptop is INSIDE the sleeve, ie it's still a naked laptop when you bring it out to use.

if u want to protect the speck cover, buy a cheap sleeve. DO NOT buy a nice, expensive sleeve, because then you'll want to protect the sleeve tongue.gif

By buying a sleeve you're already like adding bulletproof armour on top of bulletproof armour...
