I'm on third week in a row being locked to 115.135 or 115.132 IP. Called TM and they said their technical department have no solution to my case, only told me to reconnect until I get different IP. In the past weeks I have already tried reconnecting for over thousand times and it's still the same >_>

I think it is being restored but real slowly. Theres still problems trying to connect to other websites. I need to change IP then itll be okay. My place used to be fast with 60.50. but now that IP is slow as hell. Surprisingly the one that used to be slow, 118.101. is now the fast one. WEIRD.

Guest the poor guys over at the call centre couldn't take it anymore. Am I supposed to be surprised its customer care staff has been resigning in larger numbers the past month alone?

sorry to congest the forum guys,
but this is the feedback I got after I emailed Streamyx: Dear Mr. Tsan, Thank you for your reply. Firstly, we would like to apologise for the late response. Referring to your e-mail dated 18th April 2009 on Streamyx slow connection issue, the inconvenience you have experienced is regretted. The slow connection problem you are facing might be caused by various reason. These factors might be one of the following: 1. Congestion in connection 2. The level of phone line quality 3. Fiber-optic phone lines (speed will likely be at maximum speed of 30kbps or below) 4. Modem not functioning properly 5. The computer has viruses Thus, in order for us to streamline the issue that you were facing we need to proceed with some basic troubleshooting. Since you prefer not to be contacted to do all the basic troubleshooting, kindly be advised to proceed with some steps as below: 1) check whether you are using alarm system or not 2) check your phone line quality 3) check your phone line and LAN cable whether it is in good condition or not 4) Re-do bandwith test at (http://202.188.95.52:8080/speedometer/) or www.speedtest.net and you should get 90% of your subscribed speed, which is 921.6Kbps 5) Do direct connection to one computer only (bypass splitter / microfilter / router /Switch / Hub if any) 6) perform 'ipconfig /all' and 'ipconfig /flushdns' - Click on "Start" button, go to "run". - Type "command", click "OK". - Type in "ipconfig/all", then press "Enter". - check on the Local Area Connection status whether it is connected or not, if not check your cable and network card - Type in "ipconfig /flushdns", then press "Enter". - Make sure the result is "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache". - Type "exit" and press "Enter" to close the window screen. 7) Configure DNS (if you are using manual connection) - Go to Start Menu - Mouse over to “Connect To” and select option “Streamyx”. - Under “Broadband”, right click on “Streamyx” and select “Properties”. - Click on the Networking Tab and then kindly select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Then click Properties. - For the first portion, select “Obtain an IP address automatically”. - For the second portion, select “Use the following DNS server addresses”. - For “Primary DNS server”, key in 202.188.0.133 and for “Alternate DNS server”, key in 202.188.1.5 . - Click OK to save the setting 8) Disable Antivirus & P2P 9) Perform Disk Cleanup and Scan PC 10) Ping Local Website (www.tm.com.my) in command prompt box. -If the ping result shows approximate round trip in ms below 70 ms, please proceed with re-do bandwith test.if the result is below 90% of the required speed (below than 921.6kbps), please reply us by attaching the result in kbits (screen shot). -If the ping result shows approximate round trip in ms more than 70 ms or Packet Loss below 1%, kindly proceed with ping 2 local website and 3 international website, attached the result (in screen shot) and email back to us. Should you need immediate assistance, kindly contact our Technical Department at 100 and select 'Internet Services'. We hope we have addressed your concern and look forward to serve you better Regards, Anwaruddin Ibrahim Customer Care Support, Internet Services, Customer Service Management, TM Retail. www.tm.com.my (Reference No. 1-4501841657) Instead of sending technician or descent explanation on the current situation, this is the help that I get from them, thanks alot for nothing. |

Some sites are working fine for me, but it's the download that's a pain. So long to download from rapidshare, megaupload, etc. And at times it doesn't even finish..sigh.
