Just had a short-circuit causing a power trip. That means my modem had to restart and lose my 5-day old 60.48 speedy IP range.

Now I am stucked with 118.100 IP. Lol... screaming doesn't seem to help.

It doesn't matter since streamyx is sh*t anywhere you poke it (for now). Hell even ppl using vpn is complaining, its SLOW (tmnet said themselves). Although they only mention US and HONG KONG? More like the whole good damn world you f*ckers.

Props for actually having the balls to announce they screw up but still, this happens every month. Whoever is injecting money into TM gotta have a clue BY NOW, no shakehead.gif ?

Latency is ok but download speed is still not fixed. On some range its good on others its still bad. Half cook fix until next month when the same ol' shit come back to bite them in the ass, again.

PS: The latency to china (which I usually get) is around 100-270ms is now doubling up after the recent "fix". That was during morning, at night its 800ms++. ASS doh.gif

you guys should STOP posting speedtest on malaysian servers..

we all know that screamyx is the fastest INTRANET for god sake please test using a US or at least a singapore server..

my bro once told me hey i subscribed to a 0.5mbps line and i got like 1.5mbps speedtest result. Then i ask, which server do u use to test? He said KL, i say of coz la screamyx is like you have LAN speed (exxxaaggerateed) all over malaysia, go try SG instead.. and know what? He come up with snail 56k speed which he dare not tell me and kept quiet..

Nothing to be shamed off bro, it's just crappy screamyx laugh.gif we all face the same issue hahah

Nowadays even speedtest.net is not a reliable source for speedtesting since the result takes the average of speed (dl/ul) and gives it the final result. I have a connection meter and the graph says the connection itself is shitty (international server) compared with local server.

What it means is, if its local server, the graph is smooth thus the speedtest's result is valid. Meanwhile, on international server, the graph is f***ed (speedtest result gonna show 100kB/s, speed vary from 0-120kB/s during test).

Thats why you should use other speedtest server to check as well since speedtest.net is UNRELIABLE (unless your testing it locally).

Local:

International:

So it seems even speedtest.net is not displaying the correct result but only showing what the people wants to see (good/excellent speedtest). Since there are no way to choose which filesize to perform the speedtest which can produce more valid result, guess i'll just try somewhere else like http://testmy.net/ instead.

Hi phoenixxx,
Sometime the technician came to your house won't make things better.

Recently I suffer from slow download speed.
All the site I can only get not more than 5k/s.
So I call TM and make a report.
A technician came. He check with my PC.
He say they need to change 'port'.
After they change the 'port', my modem DSL lamp blink and can't surf any more.
He say they will change another one tomorrow and leaved my house.
Then about 5 days my modem keep blinking DSL lamp.

Today I call the technician many many times, now I get steady DSL lamp.
But the download speed still below 5k/s.
I phoned the tech, he said they change back the old 'port', and will check the problem later.

I feel cheated by them.

Usually its better to troubleshoot it yourself if your experiencing crappy speed. Sometimes it coule be the ip range which for example now 60.48.*.* is the known ip range that doesn't suck or at least "bareable" to be use while others are just plain crap.

Sometimes it could be your line thats messing up your connection. Either way, do your own troubleshoot and research before calling them since they can either help make it better or worse.

Check out this thread and just do a search on what ip range is good or back.

Happy to say that at this time (8:17am) that speed to mediafire is excellent. But sadly I wont give a damn because its gonna turn shitty in a few minutes or so.

PS: Rapidshare and Megaupload speeds seems to be excellent as well. Although I sincerely doubt that it'll be permanent, or at least long enough for me to give a damn.

Due take note that the download speed with be back to its usual ass-like-quality on the first day in each month and will be awesome 5 days before the next month

- TMnut

I donnu man, thats what they told me, LoL. You know its gonna be sh*t when next month starts with whole new sh*t like cable <insert name> problem or we're having a upgrade downgrade to save more money for our own asses. With the recession coming soon in tsunami like pattern, the next time it happen, it won't be fully recovered, anyways, Malaysia Boleh right smile.gif

PS: Not trying to be a pessimist or anything, just saying things like it is, you know, in MALAYSIA.
