QUOTE(tanoshi @ Apr 7 2009, 07:13 AM) IF seriously want the Kanji Reader, sure I can give the link! Thnx tanoshi-nye... but i think i will be getting an electronic dictionart although the pen is much more convenient because i wanna learn the signs on buildings and sign boards.. most of the e dict now have the stylus pen which i can write kanji on it..I'm afraid later..'wahhhhhhh mahalnya' or 'I dont want like this' or 'how to use it?' or 'where can I get it?' or 'is it can be use in all surface?' IF both question or statement will not an issue then I will give you the link in this thread.. how bout that f4tE? |

QUOTE(f4tE @ Apr 6 2009, 10:56 PM) that looks very cool... but i have never seen them in any stores... also it is limited to books only and not sign boards or things that cant be scanned.. the problem i have is that i cant really communicate well with the store people.. they cant really understand what i say and i cant really understand what they say so its difficult for me to ask.. honestly if u have problem communicating with store people, ure kinda in deep sh** about your studies.keii-kun, did u get the kanji pen? how was it? |

clemong... is the culture shock. I also hard to understand what they talk because they are talking quite fast and very soft. But somehow sometimes I can understand what they are talking, but took some time to understand, but I will answer them with hand or head gestures hahaha.
Maybe try to go into different shops then u can learn how they work. Conbini is kinda tricky because they might say something extra.. i guess is the stamp card or point card like that? if really dun understand then just say wakarimasen or yukkuri hanashite kudasai, or eigo de hanashite kudasai. |

From what I observe usually:
Kombini: If you buy food - 1. they'll ask if you wanna 'nuke' it? (microwave) 2. sometimes they ask if you want chopstick. If you buy only 1 item - 1. They might ask if you want a bag OR if you're going to eat/use it right away? If you buy stuffs from supermarkets / departmental stores - then like 80% of the time they'll ask if you have their 'point card' before you pay. If you're eating in a fastfood outlet - at the counter; after all the long greetings and all - usually first question is "Will you be eating in?" so, it's either a 'hai' or 'take out' (which they'll understand). Anyway, most of the time you can just cheat your way if you just say 'hai' or 'onegaishimasu' ... like if you buy food and they ask all sorts of questions; just say yes to all la... if they nuke it for you and give you extra chopsticks - no harm done ma right?
