caseyhoo, no i din get any CP from there, as d reason stated earlier, i rather go to nurseries in SG. Buloh or nearby PJ (coz I stay in PJ) so dat i can confirm they can survive here at lowlands... still not sure how well they can survive under my care
actually, I have another reason y im so interested with it, I hav a garden full of insects (mosquitoes alot oso la) so I was hoping if CPs can feed on those pests n i dun hav 2 get bitten so much when i go there...
Use CP to get rid of insects is not a good idea… Because, CP will attracted insect to them and eat them… You MAY end up with more insect. toda6866, yours insect may decrease because it is eaten by CP and you will still constantly get some insect in yours garden.
How I wish my place have so many insect for my CPs….
I purposely put some fruit nearby my CPs to attract more fruit flies.

Really!?!? The place where I put is shady areas. It will only get alot of sunlight during morning and abit of sunlight in the afternoon since it is shady. Maybe lack of sunlight?
Sound like the place suppose is ok. Even the plant may not do that well but, I don’t think that is the reason why it dies. Yours previous VFT’s media is always wet?

I bought it for RM 40++ and it didnt even last for a month. The lady from d nursery actually told me not to give it sunlight and not so much water as it may destroy the roots?! Gosh.. Im so devastated cuz I love it very much.. esp the VFT... so TS can distribute some to us?! Hehehe!

RM40++, where you got it and what it is? It is a cephalotus? If cephalotus, yes, it dont like too many water and prefer cool place to grow well, especially their root need cool temperature... it is not a easy take care plant....
DroseraDrosera, also know as sundew. They hate any insect that stand on top of their body. That’s why they produce sticky dew at their leaf to glue insect!!!! Then digest it!!!! Some drosera’s leaf may bend towards their food. And some even show the movement within an hour!!!
For me, personally, I try not to lets rain hit my sundew (especially those rare and sp. that I just have 1 or 2). Because, sundew will need energy to produce those dews. And it will weaker the plant. But, some hard sundew can explore to rain, like D. spatulata, D. intermedia, D. paradoxa.
There are many types of drosera and hybrid. From those laying flat at media, leaf will grow upward, the whole plant grow tall, size from 5cent to 10cm wide… Some of them will go for dormancy, but, I found that, we can leave it and don’t worry about it. They will wake up from dormancy after sometime.
To grow them using water tray methods as well, water level is from ¼ to 1/3 of yours CP pot. Most of drosera like direct sunlight.
