Hi Jialat,

I just tried out Freshlook Color blend in sterling grey yesterday. However, my left eye was in sharp pain and tearing, I removed the contact lenses and threw them away. What was the possible casue for painful eye and is it my sensitive eyes not suitable for this brand?

I used to wear acuvue define but thinking of change for new eyes colors, please advice what brand suitable for me?

Thanks a lot.

hi, i am not sure what is the cause for sharp pain with freshlook colorblend but pls make sure its original because many fake colorblend in the market now. the box is lighter in purple color if compared to the original 1.

may i know what solution u used? any problem with solution before this?

i thought u using oasys now, no color lens in market now is as comfy as oasys. if u really need color lens, colorblend is more natural looking but pls get from those reputable optical chains only. thanks

Hi Jialat... I wear Freshkon colorlens before and experienced sharp pain too.
And i stop ''a while'' (around 1 year) and during this 1 year , i change to high-hydrated lens (O2 OPTIX).. and switch back to color-lens again later 1 year.

Now , i wearing color-lens seems no problem for me at all. I guess it is because our eyes need more time to suitable the color-lens..
or maybe the product making is not perfect for the earlier batch.

hi, i m not sure why u experienced sharp pain with freshkon color lens a year ago, but if u experience sharp pain with current freshlook color lens then i will not be suprised because there are too many fake freshlook colorblend in malaysia market now.

our eyes will need some time to get used to new lens but it should not be more than few hours long. just discomfort persists after few hours, pls remove it and bring it back to shop to complain. thanks

yes, so far all freshkon in market are original and authentic lens, only freshlook colorblend have fake lens from china.

the 2 pieces in that box caused sharp pain or just 1 piece? if just 1 piece, then most likely manufacturing problem.

hi, its best to lay off contact lens for 2-3days for a proper rest.

if u really need to use it then try cutting down on wearing hours.

pls make sure that u are using high oxygen permeability lens, like air optix or acuvue oasys or purevision.

if the red eye get worse, then u must stop using lens for days. consult a specialist only if u are very worry, because red eye after contact lens wear is quite common. thanks

i had the same prob a few months ago.
all you need to do is stop wearing contacts for a week or so and use artificial tears to wet your eyes.

Hi Jialat,

very informative thread!

I've been wearing specs for a long long time (more than 10 years, since Junior High School)

I've never been bothered with contact lenses whatsoever, but now strangely getting very interested and willing to try.

FYI, I'm shortsighted (L: -5.25 R: -4.75) and high astigmatism of 3.00 (or -3.00? can't remember, lost the last prescription already) for both eyes. Mostly working with computer in air-conditioned rooms, and I'm planning to wear contact lenses most of the time. From reading the whole thread, I found that Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism would fit me, but reading from their website they only have power from -0.75 to -2.25 for Astigmatism. Could you recommend me suitable contact lenses? and recommended optometrist for me in KL area (preferably anywhere nearby LRT/monorail stations)

Also, can you guess my Astigmatism, is it 3.00 or -3.00? I clearly remember the number from my last prescription, it was 3.00 but forgot whether it had minus sign or not, and I have no knowledge on Astigmatism (does it also have +/- sign?)

Thanks in advance.

yes, acuvue oasys would be good choice according to ur visual need. just give me ur complete eye power with axis, then i can get u the lens u need.

malaya optical on jln tun h.s.lee, its near the putra station. central market is just ard the corner, i dont know which station is that.

astigmatism can be in either + or - sign, but all suppliers use minus sign, so its -3.00. thanks
