my car all round oil abs also..no problem when taking corners..juz dat alot of body roll due 2 OEM springs...

mine is front oil,rear gas(because KYB front don't have gas shock)
rear gas n oil won't have too much diff la...just when over bump the car is more bumpy...

Hi kancil gentlemen,

Beens reading thru this SLK thread for awhile lol....why? becoz smth happened to me..
I currently am a working man, with a ride, Toyota SEG, played around with this car moderately,changed engine n minor modifications that im allowed to...until...

A 660cc Kancil(A) dropped from the sky[Cut story short]...IINM, it was 1994,or 95...IDK, but very old..my 1st thought, was to sell it, but if i were to sell, the real owner would jz sell it himself anyway, so i didnt..

So the car is with me now, I thought i could save my fuel costs by driving this kancil to work, n it turned out to really2 save lol...I dont know in generals, but RM40 = 350km...far better than my corolla haha..

but sangat2 underpowered...imagine 1.6l suddenly 660c lah...so i came up with this wild idea of, reviving this car,some friends also poison me to throw L2 inside..never owned a turbocharged car anyways..n since i never had to pay any installments or whatsoever, the dropped-from-the-sky-kancil is in my grasp now..

btw, to u pros out there, i wana ask this kancil engine, idk why lah..everytime i do a fresh start(morning specially) i shift gear to 'D', it takes like 1-2 mins before it could move...or after the car is left for more than 3-4 hrs, this thing happened, like the engine duwan go, or fuel dowan inject..it annoys not jz me, other drivers too(when they wan enter my parking slot) why ah?

so, i am seriously thinking to play with this kancil, wan feel turbo haha..10k is enuf to revive an old 660c into a nice-to-drive-kancil?i don mind the HP, as long as can 'go' ...good d hehehe...somore my corolla is sucking alot of my money with the maintenance d pfft!

dun talk about 660 carby AT,even my last 660carby MT also super underpower! shakehead.gif damn grey....
try replace fuel filter see how,since it only coz u 10bucks plus...
10k u can put ur Mousedeer to dragster d...XD
around 5k also enough d...(Half-cut+labour+maintainance parts) L2/s half-cut is around 2k++,eventhought L5 also 3k++ only... thumbup.gif
my fuel compsumtion now is RM30 can go 280KM for highway drivin,if every jam+rev abit,can got 220-250KM...
my 2cents...

Well, thx for the rough figure, Ive checked that L2 can get around 2600, n i have friend who owns a half-cut, but never asked him yet...anyways,what are major difference between L2 n L5 in term of engine performance?

The car is worn-out already, even my sis asked me to at least, make-up the car 1st before touching the oily parts(engine)..was planning to repaint it and put up some bodykits(rili, my girl friends say it's ugly lol)

any contacts I can get through about these stuffs? Im planning to start my Kancil project on May 2009 wink.gif


edit : just wana add, my sister's bf has been a kancil fan for many years, he in fact own 1 with a kelisa 1.0 engine inside, i got asked him long ago, why duwan play turbo2? he said, very hard to maintain, n maintenance doesnt come cheap... hence the kelisa transplant... issit really hurt to jaga a kancil turbo? coz i like to see this tiny car to have boost lol...

I only know that L5 can play long distance rather than L2S.And the engine have more torque speed than L2s although same cc.However the maintenance of L5 is quite big.Plus the price for L5 engine cost alot than L2S.If take count for the engine only, L2S=rm1500 meanwhile L5=RM3000.

if after u change d atf ur can still not a single bit better then time 2 change d engine~

Sorry but what is ATF? I'm bad with terms lol...

So, shud I play with the bodyparts+interior 1st before going wild with the engine transplant?(of course, after reviving my old engine for a good driving experience) , i think suspension rili need to change de haha... n maybe sport rims, ive looked around.. L2 rims with tyres for RM500 onwards.

on the other hand, im curious about the L2 maintenance. some say affordable,according to ur drive style, some say still painful and delicate... i myself isnt a racing-minded driver, i dont rempit on the road(except when Im alone or late nite or really in a hurry) I jz wan self-satisfaction becoz i love numbers (before-after efforts) , as long as i dont gatal2 with my right foot, L2 can last long right lol

last long as if u do transplant and dont do further modification on it. hahha

otherwise u going same route with me and ekiddie.. haha i guess u have to PM him personally to listen some up n downs with modded L2 turbo. tongue.gif

i to0k sum pics of my small whitey already,but im on mobile nw,wil upload l8r.
The only things ive done 2 d car is,change tires,engine oil..dats all 4 nw.i dun fancy AT sum0re on 660,dats y feel like transplanting. N im so bothered wit d dashboard,wornout n always make sound while idling.. L5 dash lo0ks nice,ken it easily pnp into my kancil?or nid 2 alter anyting b4 it fits in?tq n sorry i asked to0 mch

Its true haha. I kind of agree to Kenny though before I transplanted my L9 though. That time during the auto for 850cc. Still feels bit underpowered. Really underpowered. When you want to cut, you have to try so hard till you can cut though. But I have gotten used to the car so okie ler that time haha. Yup K-Car do rocks. Well, one more thing umm, Auto for turbocharge to me is abit eat petrol because of itchy leg. Haha. Try to control though. Hahaha. Mine like RM30 can go about 230km like that.

Yup yup, maintainence for a turbocharge cars are not easy. Expecially the petrols and the parts wear off. Wear and tear. Owh ya when you try to get a halfcut, check the ECU. Dont end up like me. I have to remap my ECU because of the settings are screwed up inside. Thanks to Tommi that time for helping me out. ^^. Kelisa engine just sweet and nice. Haha. One more point, unless you like Direct Feeling of the accelerator. You can try umm get a 850cc Engine and then Turbocharge it. Carburator Turbo have a nice feel though haha. Though I have transplanted yet I still like carburator turbos. L2 and L5 difference is the fuel efficiency and the power and also difference in technology. L2s is running on 3 piston 12 valve SOHC whereas L5 models are running on 4 piston 16valve DOHC. But its an special case for Kenny haha, he have a 3-piston L5 12valve SOHC engine. First time for me to look at the engine also too ^^. Cool, I'll help you in anyway I can ^^.

Owh ya ahaha, the Dashboard. L5 dashboard is nice, it is easily pnp but you need to modify the brackets to fit the L5 dashboard in and you need to find a good wireman to rewire ur RPM meter and alot of wiring job to be done. So far, get the L5 dashboard with the blower. Its much more quieter in an L5 dashboard compare to the normal kancil dashboard. It looks nicer as well. ^^. Its good to share info around here ^^.

Well ok,after i do servicing n fix 4 comfort of driving,im goin 4 interior,d dashboard vry bad condition d,d cushion oso,steering oso.. Haha.. Dashboard,i go0gled n foundout d price is arnd,400ish..so i nid 2 find with blower lah..installation those add up arnd hw mch.. Abis gaji aku ini macam.
Anyways,ken recommend me suspension n d setup?n price range to0 hehe.thx

bro u can browse http://www.kcarlife.com for all the stuff u need...
btw ussually u can get a dashboard L5 with blower+non-rpm meter for rm350..add another rm100 for installation+wiring.
u said u have 10k to modi...then just go tru one time all plug in...can get cheaper coz u buy alot at one time then u buy one by one..
or to be extreme fast just by one car halfcut complete(engine,4 door power window,dashboard,seat,front/rear body part and rim) i think with 10k u even can get a new color for ur car n ur car will be ready for autshowwwwwwww.... thumbup.gif icon_rolleyes.gif brows.gif
