After weeks of delay, I managed to snap fit this the G2 Rex Zoid blox. (I was on a Transporter + Death race marathon...Jason Statham rocks ) Was planning to top coat it and weather it here and there but the weather these days is so hot just feel lazy to do anything

And this monster is pretty fragile. Rough play by a kid will easily break this thing apart...It's pretty much a display piece.

actually, i bought my Bite Griffon speciafically for my nephew to play. but i don't combine them, the 3 neoblox stay separate, and i found the joints quite sturdy. but have to supervise the playing, to fix back the occasionally drop-off pieces. now, he owns all my Legend Blox, Bite Griffon, Bio Tyranno and Bio Tricera (my nephew say thanks, bro ahtiven! )

I wanted to get the Bite griffon but the colours was a turn off (my skill still noobie to create custom colours ). Yup, individually, I think the Blox have sturdy joints. But once combined, certain parts don't really snap into each other comfortably (eg, there is this armour piece on the forearm, it will drop off if I mess around with pose and all, but it goes back easily).

Me thinks because when combined it's all about looking cool and not for actual play.

Right, when combined it's really not that playable. i combined them only once, right after i built the kit,
but seeing how the pieces didn't fit properly, i never combine them again.

From your posts, it sounds like Blox, Neoblox Zoids aren't really intended to be combined and played. It's a pity because i was thinking of using them as a Lego substitute for kindergarten play (poison them young minds!).

Would you know if to make sturdy, playable custom Zoids, whether it's best to get different joint pieces, like the one shown below?

I think, they will fit if you know how to design it yourself. It's just that the designers of the G2 Rex and Bite Griffon thought about cool factor first, playability next, LOL!

Duke that is one mean look G2 Rex. I dont own any Neo Bloxes maybe due to non-motorized. I own Normal NJR blox for fusing purposes. I heard neoblox joints are quite strong unless the parts are heavy it would just be droopy.

Agreed, because if you follow the instruction to combine, some armor pieces are bound to get loose when played. but i believe it's fun for
the kids to play as they see fit. like my nephew who swap their heads, tails and weapons around; combining different upper and lower half,
it's meant to be played with. but for kids, you've to supervise lah, small pieces, spiky pieces...

Ed, though i only have the Buster Eagle to compare to, from what i see, the neoblox joint is much better than the blox,
pity they didn't come out with better designs other than the LB series.

Ed, red canopy is nice ! but I don't like zoids2 sticker type. not so realistic . hehe

Zoidbliss i agree with you, Neoblox is the upgraded blox series from the original fuzor blox. One thing good about blox is they always have tonnes of extra joints of various shapes and sizes!!! can use to do a custom.

Faiz: What unrealistic!? so old skool stickers man! The only zoids series with those funky stickers! They dont make stickers like that anymore.

ya it is old skool sticker. its just I prefer sticker with "no step", "warning", "armed", "danger"

Yup, the joints are pretty stiff. I was worried that the Rex would topple over because it's actually quite heavy. But the leg joints and the ankle joints are pretty tough. There's nothing supporting Rex except his 2 feet.

Agreed. The pieces are very small. Nothing I would trust kids under 5 with. When I'm abit free, I'll try swapping the Gojulas Head for the Raptor Head.

Ya, I like the warning, danger stickers too. To bad Neo Blox doesn't come with any stickers...

i prefer the standard old school stickers as well. the zoids2 series, well... its special lol

the njr stickers, you need to do a lot of trimming. zzz
