Unfortunately, Zoids aren't as abundant as Gundam models in our shops here.
KL-ites are a luckier lot, in this respect. Jusco seems to be bringing in HMM Kotobukiya Zoids and of course, a majority of Zoids sellers on eBay Malaysia are available for C.O.D at LRTs and malls around Selangor side.
In Kuching, all I've seen are Elephander, Deadly Kong and Leogator. What Zoids available in Ipoh?

You're looking for motorized Zoids? Edmaestro's got some of the new models and reissues for sale. TS Ahtiven's got his built and MIB sets of vintage OJRs/Zoids2/NJRs(?). For an instant collector's haul, Cole's got that covered! Where to get non-motorized HMMs? That's the topic that started this V.3 thread, yes?

Singapore seems to have more Zoids in their shops. I don't know about southern Thailand.
Anyone know what are the chances of being stopped and saman by Johor Kastam if you're bringing in a haul after a weekend shopping spree at CSC Singapore? Or would airport kastam be more lenient?

My bro's got this model. The ON-OFF switch is beautifully positioned so as to be inaccessible to big, clumsy fingers. And I don't care if it's got a waddling-duck walk! All toy soldiers will tremble in fear at its approach.

Those HMM pilots are articulated at the shoulders only? I thought the elbows were jointed as well.

One thing's for sure, I'll think I'll reserve these painting for the blue and grey plastic pilots. Chrome Silver and Gold are too special to me.

Is the visor of the command wolf covered with sanded-down putty or did you have to use a plastic piece?
I'm toying with the idea of making the Zoids Graphics Orudios to be more like its photographed prototype.

Articulation? You mean the standing on hind legs stance? For that I'd probably do what was shown on HLJ - just use a string to pull the front-end up!


What I'm hoping for is some way to give Orudios its white Grilles on the leg cover and the rounded part on the chest. The rectangular stub seems so incomplete.

It needs to be mentioned here that the models for 1:24 scale Zoids may NOT be physically bigger than the usual 1:72 scale Zoids models. Largest, mass produced Zoid toy model EVER is still King Gojulas! Well, it's the largest one I've seen thus far.

The 1:24 are nice because:
(a). Articulated pilots with bendable elbows, knees and ball-jointed wrists/feet. Also comes with their own weapons.
(b). SMOOTH, curvy pieces for the models.
©. Larger surface area makes it easier to paint, I guess. Never tried and I don't think I ever will. They just look too beautiful the way they are.

Speaking of which, those museum/bone Zoids - if ink lining was to be done, what colour would make it more "bonelike"? Or would ink-washing be a better technique?

In other news: my cousin recently acquired (and built) an NJR Genosaurer model from TAKARA TOMY's 2007 production run. This does not come with the sitting and standing Raven figure. See evidence:


So for those who are missing Mr.Zoids Anime from their lives - you'd have more luck with TOMY production runs of Genobreaker and Genosaurers. But I don't personally know if ALL versions of TOMY Genosaurer models will have Raven in it. Happy hunting!
