Duh, new firmware and SDK development kit will be introduce by Apple to developers before releasing it to the general public or new iPhone. They discuss it now and release it together with the iPhone in June or July.

It's all about software not hardware. Always remember that Apple refresh their product line up once every year so last year's iPhone 3G was release on July 11th so this year would probably be in June or July.

What he says. Thanks Mike3300, so that I dont have to type in my response to that quoted post above, your post says it all. rclxms.gif

yawn.gif another firmware update.. so?

*bet surely later everyone going get disappointed again and start bashing.. (WHERE'S COPYPASTA? ) lulz

like always, they will prevent JB again and dev need 'crack' their head hard.

You're obviously OBLIVIOUS to the whole sequence of events happening last time when the firmware number jumps from 1.1.4 to 2.0. Sure, it was only a an event detailing what's new and additional features, but come three months after that, look what happened. I dont have to be a rocket scientist, or look for patterns in the night sky to see the same thing is happening again here.

But thanks to that "insightful" response though, we need someone like you to keep things aground. Don't let the door catches your ass on the way out come this July though, when I say "I told you so!" wink.gif

eh boy, not happy that your thread was deleted is it? or your blinking ignorant 17 year old mentality cannot cope with that?

the actual intention of this thread is to confirm the release of the upcoming firmware by apple.

besides this thread is way more relevant than your useless (and not to mention silly) "testing and don't mess with me" the thread (which was subsequently deleted)

To the original poster, whose name fits the bill of a typical Kopitiam dupe, this is not a rumor. Macworld, iLounge, Engadget and Gizmodo has already validated it as fact, and Apple has already passed out invitations for this event. If your post is here, just to retaliate what I posted earlier,.....grow up. That's what most of the guys at the section you inhabit and fester in, needs to do.

To those excited about the OS3, this is simply an announcement, hence the word "preview". The actual firmware will definitely not be available on this day itself. This mainly revolves around the improved version of the iPhone SDK, and how it impacts the future of iPhone.

This also means the event will reveal what's in store for Firmware 3.0. Further deduction from what's included as a feature in this firmware will tell if additional features not possible on the current iPhone will surface. For example, should the event touts a new mobile version of iChat, this will definitely mean a hardware revision is required (since the current iPhone does not have front-facing camera). If this happens, it will definitely means "July 2009", and "new next-generation iPhone". I'm personally hoping the technology Apple introduced for the slim-but-longer-battery-life battery inside the 17-inch Macbook Pro be miniaturized and made into the "next-gen iPhone". That way, we dont have to worry about running out of power like the case of the current iPhone3G. *addons like Mophie iPhone3G Juice Pack does not apply*
