It's Gold Master release and i've read somewhere that before you installed the 3.0 GM, there's a new disclaimer/agreement saying that you will not able to use the Live release.

I'll try to dig it up the source again. This is how they try to fend users thats not dev from using the GM. The JB for beta5 can be use but BigBoss have warned users not to use it as it will replace the final release file with the beta 5 files and you'll have a hybrid of 3.0 GM+beta 5. It might cause some issues later.

I'm soooo gonna upgrade to 3Gs (and might get it locally too). Those who says that the 3Gs is not much different from 3G, they should think again.

Last time the upgrade from 1st gen to 2nd gen are not that significant as they only add 3G and GPS. Same processor and same RAM for both generation. I know the Jailbreaking scene will find a way to enable video recording on 3G model but it will not have the same 30fps with autofocus as the 3Gs (since it does not have the capabilities to do so). With all the graphic intensive app especially games, the new processor + graphics processor is really great (Sim 3 kept on crashing on my current phone). iPhone 3G wont' have all the features as 3Gs even on the same 3.0 firmware as it's more geared to the new hardware. Thats why Cycorder can't achieve the 30fps as 3Gs. It's a hardware limitation.

If you look at maxis pricing for the phone package, 16GB is priced at RM2960 and RM2540 for the 8GB, how can the new phone be less than that?

What string did is a direct conversion from apple US price. It's just to be a guideline on the pricing. It can be that price, lower or higher than that. So it goes back to "need" or "want" to justify your purchase of that phone.

For me it's more to both "need" and "want". Hahahahahaha

You can use iphone configuration utility v1.1 and edit the mobileconfig file to enable MMS and tethering.

Or wait till the official FW3.0 release and stop having headache on how to get tethering to work on 3.0GM.

Yup ... most probably they have to or someone can make the ipcc file to enable those things.

From my own observation, winterboard cause lags for the phone. Adding lots of mobile substrate also can cause the lag but more to the consumption of memory.
