Taking accessory support to the "next level."

iPhone OS 3.0 can talk directly to an accessory.

iPhone can control the speaker's EQ, for example.

Now talking about FM transmitters for cars.

FM signal can be controlled from the iPhone's display.

Now talking about medical devices and accessories.

Also enabling some of this over Bluetooth. "We support all the standard built-in protocols."

Next: accessories. There are thousands of accessories that work great with iPods and iPhones. Here's a popular one, a speaker

With 3.0, we're going to enable accessory developers to build custom apps that talk directly to that hardware.

Here's an example -- an FM transmitter. With 3.0, the dev can build a custom app that pairs up with it, and automatically finds the right station and tunes it in."

The reason why they don't do background processing is because it drains battery life... why don't they just improve the battery then .. haha

those game and chat client thing very drain battery, it wont stand long and the iPhone ease to get heat. In fact the battery need to improve for more upcoming activities.
